It wasn't just yesterday with the int. The last few weeks he has broken up passes and defended good overall.  Looks like that CJ Henderson trade is looking better and better.
Ive been watching him heavy and he is starting to at least turn his head, i mean a corner, with his level of play recently. I knew we would agree on something mvp.

Edit: He also still makes me nervous on some of the back shoulder/sideline passes when he's not looking but has played the receiver well. I see the progress tho

I am excited about his play as of late. That was really a nice interception he had. He has the physical tools to cover TEs like Pitts, which is not easy to find.
Gage beat him inside for a TD and then came back and put a move on him on a hitch pass. QBs are going right at him with no fear at all.

Our entire secondary is below average. Griffin and Jenkins too.
He's playing better than I thought he would a couple of months ago. I guess he's better suited to zone work, which makes me wonder why they took him if they really wanted to play man so much.

Probably because they're incompetent.
I am impressed by how physical he is for being 185 lbs.
He was the highest graded rookie of the week according to PFF with a 90 grade

If he doesn't have to turn his head, he is good. He probably would be a good safety but looks like the Jags want to force him as a CB.

Let's see what happens against some better teams now and see if he gets beat over the top.

I'm happy with Campbells progression but also really sad that Cisco has yet to get some starting time. I'd like to see if we have a capable safety before the season ends.. otherwise we still need two of them and that sucks.

Regardless of man or zone, you still need good corners.  You still need corners that cam run with the WRs and stick on the WRs.  Even when we have ran man defense Campbell has looked much better.  When we took him it's not that I didn't like the pick because I thought he was a bad player or didn't have the talent, I just think Moore is an elite WR and it would of gave Trevor reliable WR.  I hope Campbell proves me wrong as shows he was the right pick.  Talent or the tools he has was never an issue, it was just cam he put it together and play the ball, and the last month he has been getting better and better each game.  Hopefully this will be a pick we can look back on and give them some credit

Exactly what I said

Campbell was playing Kyle Pitts a lot of the game too, which is a tough task for anyone

nothing about this FO surprises me.

you probably would have had better luck averaging results from the myriad of draft sims out there.

CHAMPIONSHIP
Obviously the switch to more zone coverage has helped him, but they do still ask him to play some man coverage. It's not like that aspect of the defense completely went away. Interestingly enough, he had a PBU two weeks ago while in man coverage.

Hoping he's legit turning a corner and getting closer to being a reliable CB2.

Agree completely. Keep getting progressively better and hang that CB2 tag in his face and see if it motivates him enough to do the work to become a CB1. Development of our young players is critical of course but him and TL are crucial to both sides of the ball for this team. Personally, much as I hate to admit this about a Georgia player, I think he could become a star. He still has a good ways to go of course but this is the point of a rookie's season where we should begin to see the improvements and this is happening with him.

When you look at just tools and upside, he has as much upside as any corner in last year's draft.  So it isn't impossible for him if he keeps improving to be our CB1
Wow that is a pretty impressive stat line . Hope he can keep it going against the Rams

I agree with you but I think that Griffin has been playing well. Don't get me wrong he is not Ramsey level but he is solid and any NFL team would start him. Jenkins let me down as a captain by throwing a punch but he is a solid tackler.
Campbell has already shown more than CJ Henderson
