If the big markets get their way and the revenue sharing changes, it will force a move. Since you (jaggedsioux) are new to Jacksonville stuff that is why I am trying to talk about our history and catch you up so you can understand why we post the way we do.

We have tried rah rah and optimistic support and the owner just takes the everyday fan for granted. It has been a tough haul. Last year was like a big knee cap because we never ever picked first overall before and we got the guy and then messed it up.
Thanks MoJag. You certainly are a great resource.

I totally agree that things got messed up with Meyer. He really had no place in the NFL.
But my feeling is that 2021 had some definite rewards. The draft class likely netted five starters. Free agents I like that are still under contract are Griffen, Agnew and Marvin Jones. Dan Arnold played well. And Trevor learned a ton and stayed healthy. I figured 5-6 wins and they got 3, that with Meyer holding them back.
That's where I think there's a level of optimism to build off of.

Haven't stayed on top of the revenue sharing issues. Big markets want more of the pie?

I live in Dallas now and trust me it gets in Jerry's craw that he has to share.  They have a pack and we may see major changes in the collective bargaining agreement. Think about how the last division realignments how they made both South divisions be the thrown together teams.  I hope they don't ruining things.

Packers?

Thank you for the personal anecdote. My point was that the Jags have averaged 60-64 thousand in attendance the last 13 years. I highly doubt that number will change much for this upcoming season due to a few disgruntled fans.
Even your tickets, though unfortunately you weren't able to sell, counted towards those figures. With a new head coach in place and a developing QB, fresh excitement will be generated and attendance will likely remain stable or increase.

How many games have you attended at TIAA Bank field in those 13 years?

If the number were significant you'd know the difference between sales and attendance is made clear win this team is actually winning.

They might sell 58000 in a down year - but what shows up at the stadium (and on the national broadcast cameras) is the 35000 that actually stick it out for a dismal product. Many times with 10K or more there supporting the opponent.

In a year like 2017 - those 65000 seats sold actually end up as 65000 butts in seats and 60000 of them wearing black and teal.

If selling 58000 seats while only filling 2/3 of them is copacetic to you then you and I fan differently.
I've been in that stadium for playoff games or games with playoff implications several times and I much prefer that to this current horse [BLEEP].
Knew it, just said it to stop getting Ballke questions and sell season tickets.

I went to the games last year, and I think at most of them we were only actually filling 1/3 of the seats, if that much.  Sometimes, it looked like the 4th quarter of a preseason game.  The upper decks across from me were almost empty, and the lower level seats were very sparse, mostly empty seats.

The last game of the season really surprised me, though.  For some unknown reason, a lot of fans showed up for that one.

Also, I don't know if they report tickets sold or tickets distributed.  Tickets distributed would be tickets sold plus tickets given away.

Based on the last 2 years. Hope springs eternal and depending on the location of these tickets, there could be a monetary reward. Even if you could get close to face value, you'd still retain the option of prime seats for the future.

what was it Vic used to say?

I wouldn't worry about that.
The fact that we have been selling as many tickets as we have, and haven't been in the absolute bottom of attendance in years, is something this fanbase and ticket sales team should hang their hat on.

Exactly. Khan is a liar and Baalke is a weasel.

2022 NFL Scouting Combine: Jags have met with WR George Pickens, TE Isaiah Likely

I read through this article, knowing what I'd find . . . and there it was.

Pickens will be coming off a national championship victory with the Bulldogs, though he missed a majority of their season trying to return from an ACL injury. He eventually was able to do so in their 12th contest, which allowed him to see some regular season and postseason action.

Baalke just can't help himself. It's like a moth drawn to a candle flame.

Oh yeah.. he must conatantly wonder why these gems don't get all the attention.

I really think he believes he's just smarter than everyone else. He finds these hidden gems that everyone else overlooks, and then everyone will see how savvy and smart he is.

He's like the girl who buys all her clothes at Goodwill even though she has a wad of money in her wallet. She wants everyone to know how smart she was for saving money . . . and usually ends up buying crap.
Man, Baalke must do great work on his knees.

So your preference would be that he not bother speaking to anyone who might be available around 65 that might benefit the passing offense? Chances are most everyone the team takes an interest in will have had some injury during their college career. I'd much rather we take time to check them out than to blindly dismiss a guy and potentially miss out on a valuable piece to building an offense.

or did we need to post the same tired joke again? I notice you made no critique of him talking to an undersized TE from a small school.

Pickens is the most inconsistent WR in this class. He's made his name based on a handful of highlight reel catches and then he disappears.

I have no problem with Likely. He's one of my top 4 TE's.
This is the guy that Shad is enamored with. Just embarrassing.

And Baalke is dead last by a wide margin.

On the flip side, Dave Caldwell was in the top 6! Pretty impressive but he whiffed on QB and Fowler.
Yet all but one of his nine picks remain on the roster from a year ago with Jacksonville, you know in his inaugural year as a GM for the team this fan forum is dedicated too.

This data from a high school senior also lists Jerry Jones as the top draft pick artist. Ha, Jerry Jones. As if his team has been relevant as of late.

Keep up the cherry picking.

My preference is that he stop focusing disproportionately at injured players.

Not too big of a surprise for me, Caldwell was always a very solid GM. Problem is he whiffed on his QB and that's what you live or die by.

Funny thing is that so many people on here said "it couldn't get any worse than Caldwell". Well what do you know LOL, it absolutely got a lot worse and it's not even close.
