I don’t think this means we go defense but I hope we get Hutch. Could still draft Neal and play him at guard this year and LT next season
03-08-2022, 03:42 PM
I think we still make run at armstead and rescind the tag if necessary

Glad we tagged him. Sometimes the devil you know is better than the devil you don't. I still think we make a run at EVERYONE....we sure do need the help.

Drafting Neal w/the #1 pick and playing him at the guard position would be a mistake. If there's line movement, move Taylor inside and let Cam and Neal battle for the LT position and the looser is our RT. That scenario is also far fetched.
Time Will Tell.

Good decision. Solid player that allows flexibility.

Hes still got to prove he is an NFL starter at LT but we have the cap and its a one year deal. Plus gives Pederson a chance to see how he works in his O. Dont think it affects our FA or draft choices though.

Agreed, if they really like Neal I think they could still go Neal

Given the number of needs along the OL and the competition from other teams in free agency spending - this was an obvious and requisite move.
They had to do it.
The real question is who else will they add and which side will the tackles end up playing?

I don't know. about that we because we still have a hole at LT. We could do just like the Ravens did with Ogden. It's not saving 16 mill when you still have a hole at LG and you can plug Neal in there
Cam-Neal-Linder-Scherrf-Little would be a much improved line

Two very highly paid IOL and the #1 pick. What a giant overkill. Just get good enough at IOL and use your top assets on elite positions.

I Disagree to Cam having to prove that he's an NFL starter at the position. He gave up just ONE sack in 2021. How much more does he have to prove? Coming off of an major injury in 2020, I feel that he's poised for betterment.
Time Will Tell.

And for those pining for Neal at #1, he and Cam are not significantly different as prospects coming into the draft.

I’m almost tempted Little at LT, Robinson RT, and give Taylor a shot at guard.
