Well, the only shots you miss are the ones you never take I suppose. That's how I like to fish. Don't get caught up or swept up on one sweet spot. Move around a little. Throw a line out everywhere. Get as many bites as you can. It's better than getting skunked.

I agree it's probably the best way for us to catch something, but I am worried we are going to catch some stuff we shouldn't want.

Dilla has no clue who Doug and Trent will go after lol

That's wht you say when you don't have a clue. I'm sure Doug has a plan lol

Agreed. Crabs are a [BLEEP]. Don't ever catch crabs....

Doug's plan is to get the most out of Lawrence and he's hoping Baalke will step on his own dick at some point this year and see himself out the front office.

Doug is well known to be one of the most hands off coaches as far as personnel goes. He says give him the players and he'll coach them. It's virtually entirely Baalke's show.

I don't believe that for a minute.

Lol, Doug will have a lot more say than you think.   Did you watch any of his interviews?  He said it's going to be a collective group on building this roster.  He didn't want to come out and say it or pull the power card but Doug will get his guys.  Doug knows exactly what he wants to do and type of roster he wants to build.

We have to be.  It's 2 of our biggest weaknesses.  Can Baalke get thr deal done though.  I'm sure JJ would rather deal them to a AFC team as well

I wouldn't call them desperate deals I'd call them smart deals if we don't have to give up a 1st or 2nd.

Are we trusting Dilla again after the whole Leftwich thing?

Always take what he (and all guys with sources) says with a grain of salt.

However Dilla has proved that he is right way more than he is wrong. But he is still wrong from time to time.

He hasn't broke anything in a while like he used to do all the time.  I'm not sure if the person he knows still works in the building
I don't mind them pursuing Cooper and Collins. However, if they end up handing over any of their picks within the top 70? It's a horrible deal. Dallas is really in no position to be overly greedy here. They're trying to offload 17% of their cap hit this year. Again, as I cited earlier today in the Amari Cooper thread.

I'll give you the 4th and a 6th for Cooper. I'll give you a 5th and a 6th for Collins with potentially a future 4th. Dallas ends up getting a total of four selections that are reasonable in value and it gives them a chance to package them up, something Jerry Jones is not shy from doing, in order to add a player they ultimately end up coveting. Collins is still a bit of a risk for me personally. He missed all of 2020. He missed five games in 2021 due to missing drug tests because he knew he would fail them. He also ended up on IR back in 2016 earlier on in the year.

I like the fact that he'll instantly make the RT position better. I also like the fact that he can easily play G in a pinch if needed. I just don't feel comfortable with his track record of injuries and now this concern with last year's suspension. So, again, all for the trade. Just don't give up the premiums. Baalke needs to sell it that way. Let's work together. You need the cap space and the picks to backfill. I need to get better right away to help my young QB out. 103, 153, 179 & 196 for 17% of your cap space being removed seems beyond reasonable and fair in compensation.
And just like that, Amari is on the Browns.

For a 5th and a 6th. My god.

That was fast. This team had the draft capital to make that work too. Again, 4th and a 6th would have been better than a 5th and a 6th. Baalke can't get it done. LOL.

EDIT:

Cleveland even got Dallas' 6th RD pick out of it. LOLOLOL.

Man. Baalke blows. LOL.
Jags were in on the trade too. Couple people were saying the Jags offer was better but maybe they didn’t want to take on the whole contract?

Whatever the reason, they botched this if the Browns could pull it off for a 5th rounder essentially.

If the Jags offer was better Jones would of taken it.  I guess we didn't feel like Cooper is worth 20 mil or they want to put that money in the oline
If it's true that we offered more but Baalke wouldn't take on the whole contract then that doesn't bode too well for our loose purse strings FA period.
If we land La'el Collins, I will be very, very happy. It will go a long way towards making up for not getting Amari Cooper. Collins was my #1 prospect in the 2015 NFL Draft.

But I don't see how you can trust him to stay on the field? I know part of his situation has been circumstance/misfortune, but even then some guys are snake bitten.

If Jerry Jones was willing to essentially fork over Amari Cooper for a 5th RD pick I wouldn't mind offering a 5th RD pick and a 6th RD Pick for Collins at this point. The odds of you landing a starter with those selections is slim to none. Collins instantly makes your right side better. He takes a [BLEEP] ton of pressure off of worrying about Taylor this summer or having to find somebody next week in the market or in the draft.

If it's a low offer for him? I would just put it out there on the table and make it happen. I am with you about the injury concerns and character concerns. I cited it already in this thread. However, the more you look at it. The more it makes sense. It's low risk / high reward with Collins. He does have a ton of talent. He does have the right fit for Pederson's style of offense. He's also well rounded.

Baalke has to make something happen here. There's no [BLEEP] way they can enter that draft next month with four picks in the sixth round. It's overkill in an underwhelming round. Needs to make something out of those while he can. Same still goes for the WR position. He whiffed on Cooper. That's fine. Call Seattle and let's see what they want for Lockett.
