Our second best signing of the FA period.
Interesting.....his success in San Fran this past season was pass rushing from the inside. He was not a starter, but largely a pass rush specialist.
A DL of Smoot, probably Hamilton, and Key with Allen and Hutch off the edge and let's say Leo Chanal blitzing up the middle could be pretty devastating.
Nice!

I'm guessing situational pass rusher from the 3-4 DE spot and 4-2 rotational DE when in nickel?

Seems that Linder cap clearance is going to work quickly. Jags are all about spending to the cap this year.

Get all the pass rushers and WRs.

Oline as well, give Lawrence the best protection as possible

Love what Doug and Baalke has done in FA

Would be a he'll of a pass rush
He had 6.5 sacks last year.  I like it.

I was told that the Linder cut brought us to the exact amount of cap space required to sign our rookie pool, so I think we're going to have to clear some more space to sign the rooks now.

That was also assuming we do not trade up with some of those picks.  Our "rookie pool" could consist of 4 or 5 guys if we use the picks to trade up for better talent.

Wow.

What a spending spree this offseason.

I sure hope this pays off. At least a few of the contracts have outs after 2 years.
Maybe neal at #1and then move him to right guard this first season. That would be very nice oline this year.
jLove reading this! Pederson is hitting the OL, WR, DE . . , a lot of our top needs. Lots of upgrades to key spots in FA - may offer more flexibility in going with BAPs in the draft.

Hamilton over Foley?

That would be up there with worst case scenario for me.

Hutch, at this point, is the clear choice.

I'm good with either scenario. I just wonder which scenario would have the most impact.

You're asking whether a DE with elite athletic measurables at the combine or a tackle who can't play anywhere but guard his rookie year or more is the right choice?

Here's what I foresee based on drafting Hutch or Travon Walker at #1.

Base 3-4:

     #1 pick/Chaisson (LE) -- Brown/Hamilton -- Fatukasi/Hamilton -- Smoot/Robertson-Harris -- Allen/Key

Rush Situations:

     #1 pick -- Smoot -- Hamilton/Fatukasi -- Key -- Allen

4-2-5 Situations (Nickel):

     #1 pick -- Fatukasi/Brown -- Smoot/Hamilton -- Allen

More like Baalke with Pederson's consultation.
I would consider completing an offensive line with that pick. 4 out of 5 potentiality good starters.
