I would do it for a 3rd round pick, because I don't see much difference in value in the first 5 picks.
In terms of the actual value of the players in the draft this year, One way to look at it is like the draft is starting at pick number 10. And the next four picks are also pick number 10. That's the way I look at it.
In fact when I think of it I would trade from pick number 1 to pick number 10 for just a 3rd round pick and then take the best player at pick number 10.
There just isn't much value at the top of the draft compared to previous years so I would trade down for very little.

A 3rd round pick to move from 1 to 10? Hell no. That would be a Gene Smith type move
Saying that TL16 didn't play well and that we've never had a real QB is a bit much.
As for my excitement for the upcoming 2022 NFL Draft, I have a feeling that our staff will make the right decisions w/respect to drafting our next wave of players. I don't like attaching name because it's a guessing game so let's draft BAP in the need department on the front side of the draft and BAP on the back side.
Time Will Tell.

I agree with that. Rounds 1-3 have to be starters or immediate contributors. That's because of the overall state of the roster. But Day 3 has to be about building depth. Who knows? We may get lucky on a day three IOL or safety? Hopefully as the next 2 or 3 drafts progress we can lean more and more to BAP.
Anyone else see the rumor put out there by ucfjag on Twitter that when Khan bought the jaguars originally the plan was to let Khan move them to London in the long term future like 10+ years but recently the NFL put the kibosh on the move to London and now Khan is furious and the NFL is supposedly putting together a buyers group for the jags now?
Pretty wild allegations but probably not the best timing to release that rumor a week before the draft...
Edit: struggling with technology today lol

Totally get the crapping on hopes. It's kinda become a way of life for the Jags fan.
After hutch which is most likely, Wr, ol-ine, line backer. I would go all out looking for impact players in these positions.

I've tried that in order to "soften the blow" when I'm ultimately disappointed in who we take. It didn't work. I was still just as angry as I would have been, had I been optimistic going into it. This year I'm just being indifferent.

I usually don't get very upset about draft picks because I don't follow college football closely enough to know what players are very good, but I do get irritated about cases of obvious need based picks or bad positional value. Examples would be taking Fournette in the top five and Etienne in the first round. Taking running backs in the first round is dumb, taking them in the top five should merit a sniper taking the GM out before he can call that pick in.
This is draft week ! There are a few players that have been run up the flagpole on this board for our first pick. (if we don't trade) They represent 2 positions, offensive line or edge rusher. The majority of the posters appear to be sold on the premise if we get a high caliber edge rusher it will help Treavor because the other team will not score and put us behind at the beginning of the game. I do not believe this. I do not believe that was the major defect we had as a team last year. Our offense ranked dead last in points per game at 14.2ppg, we need to be averaging almost double that. The defect we had is we could not score. The NFL has changed, it is like basketball on grass. You need a defense yes, but more importantly you need to score points. Teams were not concerned about the Jags scoring on them.
What defects did our offense have last year?
Receivers - our receivers were undisciplined, ran routes inconsistently if they even ran the correct ones. They could not get separation and when they did get open had trouble catching the ball. This has been addressed in free agency to an extent but needs more attention in the draft.
Tight Ends - We did not have tight ends that could contribute much to the offense until we got Arnold. Then he was injured. This has been addressed on a short term basis for only one year. We need to get a developmental candidate in the draft if the current players cannot be "coached up" sufficiently.
Offensive Line - Our offensive line while statistically did well, could not when it counted. If a team wanted to get to our quarterback in a pivotal situation they could, not allowing the patterns to develop. We added a guard for 50 million/3years. If we do not see Cam as being our left tackle for the next 5-7 years AND be willing to give him more than Scherff we need to address this with our first pick. I don't care if the guy plays guard next year before moving to tackle. I would want someone capable of playing either tackle for us after Cam is gone. Now this would really be helping our QB, receivers and running backs. This would also help our defense as the offense may stay on the fireld early in games and not 3 and out. The O-line is where it all starts. We are one or 2 injuries away from depending on Jawaan Taylor.
Defense - We ranked 28th in points allowed at 27 ppg. We need to drop that by 5-7 ppg this year. If our offense can stay on the field a bit more it will get us at least half of that. The Jags ranked 20th in defense (17th passing 24th run) . My opinion they were about equally good in both. Teams got ahead due to our offensive not being able to score and ran the clock in the second half. We ranked 31st in time of possession due to our offense not being able to move the ball when the other team put the clamps on them. This put our defense on the field way to much with the other team in good field position. We can pick up a scary guy to pair with Josh later in the draft. They are there it is a deep draft. We also need depth big time on defense. We have the draft capital to do this too.

I would throw TE into the mix, too.
Baalke just said we are considering 4 players at the #1 pick.

yeah, my comment was mainly tongue in cheek.
There's usually a few guys each year that I fall in love with and really hope we land, but otherwise unless we're doing something boneheaded most of the time I can find a reason why they went with their preference over mine.

Stupid Baalke. He's been in the league for how long now, and he doesn't understand that you can only take one guy with the pick.
No wonder we're always so turrible

The fact that we're only 6 days out from the draft and we still have 4 guys in play for the #1 pick shows why we are the worst run franchise in the NFL. I could see if they were waffling between 2 guys, but 4? That's ridiculous!

The fact that you aren't taking anything said with a grain of salt from any GM a week before the draft is ridiculous! Good grief.

If you've been following a couple of people with ties to the team:
Caldwell and defensive coordinators want Hutch.
Baalke wants Walker.
Doug wants Icky.
My guess is Neal would be the 4th player.
