Any chance we don't turn our pick in on time and get an artifical move down?

I'd keep doing that until Walker is off the board.
Hearing Baalke talk about making draft picks makes my teeth itch.

in other words not even getting a seventh to move back?
GMs don't make the big bucks to be indecisive.

Just leaving this here , for when we don’t draft Hutch

Well if they were high on him they do not want to tip their hand.  I think all these leaks may be the Jaguars pr office trying to drive some trade talk.  I believe it's been hutch all along but they do not want to tip their hand now.

I kinda get the same vibe. Caldwell was notorious for the same vibe leading up to his darfts, too.

They checked out John Metchie III though. He's ranging anywhere from late RD2 to early RD3. I mentioned in that other thread that they have plenty of picks at their disposal to come up and get a top WR.

Only challenge with that is the fact that there's a gauntlet of teams in RD1 with multiple picks that are in the market for a WR and it just so happens to align perfectly with where the value would be anyway at the position. So, tough market right now to be in.

I am convinced that unless they trade up on the opening night they won't bother looking at a WR until RD3. If there's a guy that maybe slips a bit or they panic that a team might take Metchie at the bottom of RD2 they might very well package up those 3RD round picks to  get ahead of them to get him.

I am assuming it's Hutchinson right off the bat, probably another defensive player that nobody suspects at 33 or a damn good RT or G there that offers great value overall and they either trade up that same night for Metchie or hang back in the 3RD round come Saturday.

I also really like Calvin Austin III out of Memphis on my end. Had him as a target we trade up for in my final mock draft. There's links to him and the Chiefs now as a Tyreek Hill replacement because of his size/speed ratio.

To this I Concur. Not to mention the current receivers and FA signees on the roster. We have other positional needs to be filled. We need to draft an C/OG, DL/PR, LB, RB (only due to injuries) within the first three rounds. WR isn't an position of need in my opinion. I could be incorrect though.

Time Will Tell.

NH3...

I get this feeling that the NFL just WANTS Hutch in Detroit for the narrative; local kid, went to UM, drafted to the hometown team so they can talk about it every broadcast and sell jerseys/market him. And since Baalke has a vendetta against Jim Harbaugh he's happy to oblige.
