But if you're a real fan it's not that easy to quit.  I've thought several times in the past that I would quit this team but I never even came close to quitting.  It's just not possible.

I refuse to believe even Baalke would be that stupid. We need an outside linebacker with pass rushing skills, not a run stuffing 3-4 DE. I know I have lit into Baalke a lot, but surely he can't be that ignorant.

Sure we do. Jalen Ramsey was the safe pick. So was Justin Blackmon. In 2013 they went safe, as Bleacher Report said:

On Friday at this time there will only be one new player (maybe 2 if they trade up).

And you must be new because there will be a lot of unhappy people no matter who they pick.

And can the fair-weathered fans who promise to abandon the team if the draft doesn't go their way follow through on their threats for a change? 

Ok, Friday one or 2 new players and sunday morning more new players, and yes there will be many people hating the picks. I'm just trying to be optimistic and remain excited regardless.
