I am too.  I should put money on it.  Las Vegas is just following the mocks.  The mocks just switched to Travon Walker because they were getting boring with Hutchinson always being the pick.  They get more clicks by mixing it up.

I still think it's Hutchinson.

At this point I'd be OK with a handful of players at #1, including both O-tackles, Hutch, or Sauce. I'd also love a trade down. Picking Walker is like Alualu all over again. No one else values him there. It's smartest man in the room BS.

...will the meltdown change the pick?

Because if it will, go ahead and start now as a preemptive strike.

I’m a fan, so I’m allowed to fan. Maturity goes out the window!

You have good company around here then.

It happens every year.  People threaten to turn in their season tickets and quit the team for good if their player isn't picked.

But if you're a real fan it's not that easy to quit.  I've thought several times in the past that I would quit this team but I never even came close to quitting.  It's just not possible.

Haha. Exactly. By this time on friday, we will hopefully mostly be excited about the new players

I've been around for every single draft the jags have gone through. And I followed every single one very closely. I guess I have learned from all that that I should not be so invested in my own opinion.

On Friday at this time there will only be one new player (maybe 2 if they trade up).

And you must be new because there will be a lot of unhappy people no matter who they pick.

I refuse to believe even Baalke would be that stupid. We need an outside linebacker with pass rushing skills, not a run stuffing 3-4 DE. I know I have lit into Baalke a lot, but surely he can't be that ignorant.

Stupid is what stupid does.  Nothing Bulchie does surprises me.  Can only hope Pederson flexes his influence and provides some sanity.

Sure we do. Jalen Ramsey was the safe pick. So was Justin Blackmon. In 2013 they went safe, as Bleacher Report said:

"More importantly, they wouldn't have found a better value pick than Joeckel, who may be the best player of this draft class."

SB Nation agreed:

"Joeckel was our top-rated player in the draft this year"

Bucky Brooks gushed on NFL.com:

"BEST PICK: Luke Joeckel, OT, Texas A&M
Jacksonville Jaguars, Round 1, No. 2 overall

The second overall pick should always be considered a "can't miss" prospect, but the Jaguars deserve credit for ignoring other pressing needs in favor of a cornerstone player for GM David Caldwell's rebuilding project."
Too lazy to look.  Did Joeckel ever do anything in the league?

Ok, Friday one or 2 new players and sunday morning more new players, and yes there will be many people hating the picks. I'm just trying to be optimistic and remain excited regardless.

And can the fair-weathered fans who promise to abandon the team if the draft doesn't go their way follow through on their threats for a change?

He... started 11 games at guard for the Seahawks. Which is something, I guess. Other than that, what you saw with the Jags was what you got.
