According to BigCatCountry, the unconfirmed list is as follows:

  • Kevin Austin, WR, Notre Dame
  • Shabari Davis, CB/KR, Southeast Missouri State
  • Josh Thompson, DB, Texas
  • Marcus Tatum, OL, UCF
  • Lujuan Winningham, WR, Central Arkansas
  • De’Shaan Dixon, DE, Norfolk State
  • Denzel Okafor, OL, Texas
  • Gerrit Prince, TE, UAB
  • Sean Mahone, S, West Virginia
  • Israel Antwine, DT, Oklahoma State
  • Nick Ford, OL, Utah
  • Andrew Mevis, K, Iowa State
  • Grant Morgan, LB, Arkansas

I see Austin, Mevis and Ford as having good shots at making the 53 man roster.
Pretty clear from the Davis addition and the 7th round pick that they aren't sure if Agnew will be ready and may not trust Claybrooks to the role and they are seeking to upgrade that back-up returner spot.

If either of those guys proves a better back-up corner than Claybrooks, as well, it's a no-brainer.

At least - that's my guess on that spot.

That would bring us to 90 if it is correct.  Looking at who we already have , acquired in free agency, drafted and the UFA;s we will have quite the competition this year to make the roster.  We have about 40 no-brainers, so 50 guys fighting for 13 spots  ?

Of all our UDFAs he and our new kicker have the best shot to make the team.

Why would he say anything like that?
When the mics are on, only good should come out your mouth. Period.

I hope he'll be alright.
Lets hope we can find another Diamond like James Robinson.

Me too, glad he is getting a chance. seems he wants to take the risk.
Kevin Austin was rated as high as 3rd-4th round on some sites. His injuries, suspension and only one year of production caused him to go undrafted. He will need time to develop, but he projects as an outside receiver with good speed. With good coaching and hard work, he might become the team's starting X receiver in year 2. Although they guaranteed him much more than the typical UDFA, they must believe he has the traits to succeed on the outside.

I originally wanted Justyn Ross in the 4th round or so but didn't realize he had another setback this year.  Sad development for a player that had critical catches in their BCS Championship win over Bama during his freshman year.

Claybrooks is working his tail off and is going to give it his all.

Does he have a route tree, even if limited, that can be immediately implemented in year 1? Or do you think he is more likely "break glass in case of emergencies" for his rookie year?

Watching his highlight he didnt appear to get good separation, but he does seem to make the tough contested catches.

He has tiny, baby hands.
If Ross stays healthy the cheifs just took a massive W. He was a first round prospect injuries aside, 6'4 guy who ran a 4.6 40 whilst still injured.. what a miss for us, shoulda taken a flier in the 7th.

According to some people here, he is a windblow away from being in a wheel chair. Hmm
I think the Jags, as well as most other teams, just don't want to feel responsible for putting him on the field if he does sustain a major injury.
