Quote:Didnt watch game but according to Bucs fans, wasnt good.

Went through their game day thread on their forum and didn't see anything negative about him. Looks like there was a play where he was supposed to have and broke off and the help wasn't there, but other than that nothing mentioned of him. Probably did ok.

Buccaneers CB Vernon Hargreaves
Grade: A
Pick: No. 11 overall
The skinny: Hargreaves is a smooth, fluid athlete and he's been very reliable in his rookie campaign. He's started all 14 games for the Bucs and he's already one of the best tacklers among cornerbacks in the league.

Jaguars CB Jalen Ramsey

Grade: A
Pick: No. 5 overall
The skinny: Ramsey has shown all of the tools to be a star cornerback in the NFL. His combination of size, explosiveness and instincts is very impressive.

And he made an Int. So that defiantly goes along way.

You realize your quoting my post from after week 1, where he wasnt good, right?

Either way Im taking Ramsey all day everyday over Hargreaves and pretty much any corner in the NFL with what hes doing as a rookie and his contract.

its funny how you got quiet after he started playing good. Ramsey has played well but Hargreaves has been just as good on a cheaper contract and we could of traded back and got probably an extra 2nd round pick plus Hargreaves

Get quiet? Im not going to sit and post threads about Hargreaves after every game analyzing how he did. I liked him coming out of the draft, but hell no to taking him over any of Bosa, Ramsey, and Buckner for me. Said that all draft season and after this seaspn I definitely still feel that way.

If you seriously think hes been and will be just as good as Ramsey....lol.
Lol @ Hargreaves = Ramsey
5) Jalen RamseyJacksonville Jaguars cornerback: It's rare for even the most promising cornerback prospects to hold their own as rookies, but Ramsey is doing just that for a Jacksonville defense that ranks third in yards per game since Week 9. Billed as the "best player in the draft," the hyper-competitive Ramsey has flashed All Pro-level talent while covering No. 1 receivers. He was draped all over DeAndre Hopkins in Week 15, recording five pass deflections, a forced fumble and an interception while robbing the Pro Bowl wideout of a pair of touchdowns. He has all of the tools to develop into the NFL's next great lockdown cornerback.

Hargreaves isn't even on his list...

There is no one on earth taking Hargreaves over Ramsey after each of their rookie seasons. That's great if Hargreaves is playing well. I liked him coming out of college.

Seriously, this whole "Gators vs. Noles" thing is the most annoying thing ever.

I haven't watched Hargreaves much since he got drafted, so I'm not really qualified to compare the two. Prior to the draft though, Ramsey definitely had more upside. I liked both, but Ramsey's skillset and traits were on a completely different level.

Rookie contracts are cheap across the board. Too many moving parts to execute the trade down option you are listing. When GM's get cute and trade back they typically get burned. When you have the "guy" at the top of your board and you are on the clock, it is an absolute no brainer. I was jumping for joy when the Cowboys made their selection.

they are a different type of corner. Both have played well this year and i think both are the future at the position. That said, my point was we could of traded back and got Hargreaves. It said was we had multiple trade offers fo the pick. Would rather VH3 and a guy like Noah Spence than just Ramsey
Ramsey is already one of my favorite players on the team. My point though its always good to trade back if your not drafting a QB at the top of the draft in a deep draft like last year and this year as well

I feel like they got excellent value taking Ramsey where they did. I'm glad they selected him there and didn't trade back.

would you rather have Ramsey than VH3 and Spence?

Think about this.. we are on pins and needles as fans on draft night. The picks are coming in and the guy that is on the top of most boards isn't getting picked. The cowboys pass and we are on the clock.

The guy at the top spot of the draft is sitting there in your lap. Your boards, mocks and offseason work put everything to focus on this outcome.... and then you trade out of the spot? If you are the GM that doesn't pull the trigger for that guy in that spot, you will be the laughing stock of front offices.
The draft this year is similar to last years for us. We need to trade back
Quote:would you rather have Ramsey than VH3 and Spence?

I'd rather have the projected guy from the previous draft (Folwer), Ramsey and Miles Jack. Telvin and Jack have the type of speed and disruption we need going forward. And then you put a top cornerback on the other team's number one? I like the chances of Fowler improving and taking advantage of those opportunities. And Yan could be a steal.

Not getting into the what ifs here. The GM did the job this year. The coach flubbed it for 4 years.

During the draft? No doubt I'm going Ramsey.

Ramsey was pretty much widely considered the top player in the draft with elite upside as a cover corner. Spence had a lot of issues coming into the draft, he was at EYU (?) for a reason.

You can do this every year. I'm happy as hell getting the top level elite talent that also has a decent shot of being the #1 corner in the league come a year or two from now. Each top end defense needs an elite player or two sitting on the roster. Well we got one. He also brings something to our defense that not many players can with his personality/the way he acts on the field.

Don't even want to think about Ramsey being on another team. He's the best thing to happen to Jacksonville in a long time.
