Quote:giving up a 2nd round pick isnt really a haul to move up for a QB lol.
No, not a haul, just don't think this QB class is going to be highly viewed at the top. I don't see teams giving up a 2nd to move up 2-3 spots for a guy like Trubisky/Watson/Kizer.

Guess we'll need to see how their stocks go, if our plan is to trade down we better hope they absolutely ball out these next few months.

That's my philosophy too.

If Jon Allen or Garrett is there, imo, you take him and run. Just like what happened with Ramsey last year.

If It's Jamal Adams or Tim Williams, I'd get a trade down (pending how Tim Williams finishes up the season with his comibne (expect him to rise big time).

One or 2 of those teams will take a QB in the top 10 and if NY or Cle want Trubisky they will probably have to jump Chi to get him.  I know you wanted Geno Smith coming out but Trubisky is a much better prospect than Geno Smith was

Hindsight is 20/20 there. Geno Smith was pretty highly viewed early on in draft season. Lot of people projecting him #1 and was always viewed as the top guy during that whole college season. Trubisky on the other hand kind of is one of those guys that came out of no where a bit here. I mean obviously you heard his name, but most didn't even think he'd come out.
Ramsey has allowed 6.1 yards per target the last 6 weeks

Where does that compare to the top corners?

PP21 has 6.3
Imagine how good he will be when he doesn't have to cover his guy for 8 seconds.

Agreed.  We get another quality pass rusher and it'll officially be Ramsey Island out there.
He has the potential to be even better than Mathis in his prime. The last few games though he has looked like Mathis in his prime and its just his rookie year. Just gotta keep forcing turnovers like Mathis did.
Nobody played Marvin Harrison better than Mathis

In addition, Rashean Mathis made a huge impact against the Steelers in very meaningful games for the Jaguars.

As well as Jalen Ramsey is playing and progressing,  I think he would benefit greatly if he tried to spend time with Rashean Mathis in the off-season.  After listening the Mathis' retirement press conference ( which Jaguars.com carried ),  which I highly recommend anyone who has the time to listen to when you have the opportunity,   I'm confident that Mathis would be receptive to working with Ramsey.    Mathis thrived in the role as a mentor during his 3 seasons with the Lions ( during the season and in the off-season ) and made a huge difference in Darius Slay becoming one of the NFLs best CBs.
Ya, Mathis loved harassing Big Ben. He spearheaded the Jags last playoffs victory in Pittsburgh with those picks.

Similar to how Samari freaking Rolle loved making Mark miserable in the ole Central.

Ramsey is more athletically gifted than Mathis, and comparably cerebral in play style. Makes for good mentoring.
6, wrong thread, but the world is watching Sunday night, at your house mate. You aren't going to let em overtake you, are ya?

If the Redskins beat the Giants in the late afternoon slot,  the Lions game against the Packers will rank in the top 5 biggest regular season Lions games in my 47 seasons as a passionate fan of this team.   Not many people expect the Lions to win this game,  which will make a victory over the rival Packers that much more enjoyable if it happens.

Related to this thread to some extent pertaining to having a true # 1 CB,  the importance of CB Darius Slay was on display in the Lions-Cowboys game the other night.  W/o Slay,  the Lions didn't have an answer for Dez Bryant,  even factoring in how much he gets away with pushing off.    If Slay is healthy enough to play against the Packers and his hamstring holds up well,  that could easily be the difference in the outcome of this game.    Jalen Ramsey should have at least a similar impact for the Jaguars when he gets the opportunity to play in high stakes games.
