Quote:Right but we kill other kinds of people for selfish reasons. I mean, is there that much of a difference? we might say "oops" afterward but result is the same.

America shaming isn't going to work, that's a different topic. The problem is Trumps apparent admiration for at best an oppressive authoritarian at worse a tyrant.

You can't say Obama is an oppressor and Uber dangerous then turn around and make excuses for Putin's actions. A statist is a statist.

LOL, and to actually help out your argument... We may not kill our journalists and whistle-blowers, but we sure will jail them, drive them out of this country, or drive them to suicide...

I get it.  At some point you have to look at the injustice and say, "hey, how far off from Putin's russia are we?".  But even with that said, the answer should always be that we are ideologically striving to maintain the principles of the Constitution.

And there is nothing Constitutionally relevant in the Putin regime that any politician running in the USA should say makes Putin stand out as a good leader that should be respected for his leadership skills.  Especially as President, the importance of the figurehead and symbolic authority of the office is just as important as the actual policies that you implement.  Trump doesn't seem to get that.  You don't pick twitter wars.  You don't admire publicly the leadership skills of tyrants.

These are things that lead to the corruption of a nations "soul", for lack of a better word.

Bingo.  And with that, gotta get ready for tommorrow.  I'll pick up in the morning.

Quote:Lol if Obama tried a quarter of the stuff Putin has pulled off youd be the loudest one on here screaming tyrant.

Putin has invaded foreign nations and is holding them at will, arrested political opponents, had members of the media executed, enforced legislation regulating forms of media (state controlled media i might add) regulating public protest, and the list goes on.

Hey I oppose western intervention with the beat of them and have grivences with the way we deal with specific problems here. But we haven't had a tyrant on Putin's level since the days of Lincoln.

And yes I lean towards anarcho-capitalism but that's an ideology the political party I support is libertarian since it's the closest we can get.

I would loves a stateless society but it'll never happen so I advocate neutering the state.

Sounds like the US in the 40's/50's. Also, there is no proof of media execution, or lets say, there is as much proof of it as there is of the DNC murdering Seth Rich.
Quote:Your use of tyrant is extremely subjective. There is a difference between being authoritarian, and being a tyrannical ruler. In my opinion, tyrannical rulers are Stalin, Mao, Hitler, or Kim Jong. Authoritarian rulers like Putin are more along the lines of FDR or Pinochet.

Quote:I don't listen to Alex Jones. I speak from a historical perspective. Putin is not a tyrant. Authoritarian, sure. Not a tyrant. You discredit actual tyrants by calling him such. Your position is more an-cap than libertarian, which is a dangerous ideology.

Pinochet was a tyrant.  You realize how may people "disapeared" while he ruled?  He completely tyrannized his country and those that disagreed with him, even to the slightest.

I find your placing FDR within the list of Authoritarian leaders to be off base, but fascinating.  And even one that I can concede to a certain level when thinking of how hardcore the war effort was, along with the internment of Japanese Americans.

But I think it's important to realize that the line between an Authoritarian and a Tyrant is a very thin one.  I think categorizing Putin as one or the other can be considered correct.  He's Authoritarian.  He's a Tyrant.  Neither answer is incorrect.
Ok ok Trump loves Putin. We got it.

What about Hillary? She said something about war being a last resort? Haha ok. What about the banks that tell you what to do? Cause we know they don't give a fuuuuuuudge.
Honestly Trump is just winging it.

First he lied as there is absolute proof and recorded evidende he was for invading Iraq. His secret plan that we now know doesnt exist as well as his plans to fire Generals. His Putin love affair is wierd.

He doesn't think he needs to prepare at all. One thing for sure, Clinton will study and prepare for these things.
Clinton's plan we already know and you can bank on it continuing.

Yes her answers to the tough questions did seem robotic and rehearsed a bit.

Hahaha... thank you. I read that and was like.. stop typing. You're done. Pinochet killed thousands.

Trump says over and over again he was against going to Iraq. Unfortunately for him, Howard Stern asked him in 2002 and his answer was.. well.. not against. It's on YouTube.
Donald Trump plans on committing war crimes by going into the Middle East and "Take the oil".

I have a idea of what Trump is going to do.

He will take the oil.

Build a beautiful wall around the areas with no oil. Make ISIS pay for it,  and ship all the Mexicans over there. Tell "The Blacks" to not go to the enclosed area because he will make them feel safe.

Profit.

Thank me later!

I only watched the Trump portion last night.  Just watched the Hillary part today.  IMO, she was horrible.  Her body language was extremely negative, her endless pounding with a crooked finger was authoritarian and annoying, she didn't answer many of the questions but attempted to give extensive "back-story", and she flat-out lied in several answers.  Lauer knew she was stalling and giving speeches, tried to get her to speed up, and she blew him off.  All the stuff she said she would do to improve things is stuff she could have already done as SoS.

IMO she did not help her chances.

that's because she was wearing an ear piece.  i didn't know this was allowed.  why don't they just have a handler answer all the questions for them on stage?

Are you saying she cheated?

i would assume her not even trying to hide it means its allowed

Taking oil sovereign to another country. Great foreign policy a few hundred years ago. Sack countries and take the spoils (see: any section of The British Museum). The modern world doesn't work that way.

we invaded the country and bombed the hell out of their capital... his point was "we should not have been there", then next point is "once there, we should at least take something"  common sense

i dont think you understand how we're fighting this war over there.  somehow you think its ok to bomb with air strikes and kill thousands of innocents, arm "moderate" rebels who may use weapons against us... but securing oil... OH NO WE CANT HAVE THAT
