Same old Jags.

"Same old Jags."

Jesus. Get a grip. This team is way different than it has been in at least 5 years.

Wake up.

Do you think... maybe... that has to do with the weather at all?
You realize how everytime you praise a player, it immediately gets followed up by a suckfest performance? (Lawrence, Jawaan T).

Never praise anybody, ever... so disappointing. But we're an actual NFL team now, at least.
During a bout of horrendous ball security, this team still had life in this game late against very good competition. We’re not going to have horrendous ball security week in and week out. Very good reason to be optimistic during this supposedly soft part of our schedule coming up.

Very miserable to watch.  Looked like the same old jaguars.

We lost by 8 points today.  Last year, the Jaguars lost games by 10 points, 12 points, 14 points, 16 points, 18 points, 20 points, 20 points, 24 points, 30 points and 40 points.

No, it's not the same.
From NFL.com:

Next Gen stat of the game: Trevor Lawrence recorded his lowest completion percentage over expected of his career with a mark of -21.1% on Sunday.

NFL Research: Trevor Lawrence's four fumbles lost were the most in a single game by any quarterback since at least 1991, and his five giveaways were the most in a game in Lawrence's career.

Trevor had about as bad of a day as you could have and they still had a shot at the end of the game against a very good team. This should be a good learning lesson game for this young team. Staff and players as a whole.

Sorry I completely misread your comment.... I thought you said I told you that we would have five turnovers.... My first thought was damn that was a dam good prediction.... Sorry my bad

Naw lol. Typically if a team coughs the ball up 5 times in a game, they lose by at least 24, not 8 lol. Is what I meant.
Growing pains guys growing pains, we played a complete team that was in good health in their stadium under terrible weather circumstances. They are a very good team. Coach has been there a couple years they have played together enough that they have jelled as a team. The Jaguars after turning over 47% of their roster and having a new staff are in that process now. Unfortunately I expected this inconsistency because of this. Last year I expect we would have been 14 points down by the end of the first quarter and lost 35 -10. (that's being kind too) So according to my expectations we are actually doing better than I expected.
During the post game press conference Dougie P basically said "Yea I had a pass first game plan in a tropical depression and I'll do it again". Live or die by what they believe in and they believe in throwing the ball. Said weather conditions aren't going to change his beliefs/plan.
Same Old Jags would've lost this game 50-10. We stayed in it, even if we made more mistakes than we should've. That's progress.

Through the 1st quarter of the season, one thing that's clear is that this isn't the same old Jags.

We'll win some games and we'll lose some, but playing the Jaguars now isn't the easy lay up it used to be. Teams are going to have to show up and bring it to beat this Jag team.

Despite that game plan. The amazing thing is we were likely 6 feet away from winning this game.  Two feet on the throw to Agnew in the first half. Two feet quicker on the interception at the beginning of the second half.  A couple feet on the roll out where he just dropped the ball, Tim was wide open and I believe TL saw it.

I got you and I agree... even with five turnovers we were still in this game to the last drive.... Not even close to what we were doing last year if people can't see that I don't know what to tell them

We’ll see if he sticks to that tune after he views the game tape, because there were like 2 drops in a row before Trevor’s rollout fumble.  Meanwhile, Philly started in a 0-14 hole and made the decision to run the ball even though the strength of our defense is stopping the run.  Why?  Because the weather dictated they should…and it worked.

Once you go up 14-0 you run the ball, especially in bad weather conditions.  If Doug’s game plan was so rigid that it precluded situational adjustments, then it was the wrong game plan.  Both of our losses were the result of poor game plans and poor gametime decisions.  Doug gets the most out of his players but needs to do a better job of putting his team in better positions to win.
I said it in another thread. Jags got out coached for the first time today. I don't think it will happen very often.

He said, “We didn’t have enough touches.  If you turn the ball over like that then you don’t have enough opportunities.”  In the end his critique of the game was that the Jags gave up the ball too much, handicapping the opportunity to score.

As to weather he said, “You may have to modify things, but you need to stick to the things that gave you success over the last couple weeks.”  His point here is that they have a formula for success and they need to execute it.  It’s not like the Jags have a trick bag that is overflowing.

On defense, “We have to stay in our gaps to slow down the run.  But the key is staying on the field and making first downs.”

On the blown plays like Agnew, “Those are obvious plays we need to convert… when you have those opportunities you need to convert them.” Missed opportunities.  The same message as week 1.
I don't see how the jags got out coached at all? What does the coach have to do with 5 turnovers, that's on TL.

I think the main factor wasn't coaching.  The Eagles are a better team right now.  They have better players and more experience.  Their offensive line was dominant.  They were playing at home, too.   And, our QB didn't have a good game.  Coaching is the least of the factors that led to this loss.
As per My Opinion, we're still within the phase of learning how to win. We turned the ball over five times and still had a chance at the end. TL16 needs to wear gloves in wet weather, so should all of our WR and RBs. From now on it should be mandatory and they start practicing doing so immediately (personal opinion only). It looked like they were trying Too hard to get that win for Pederson. "So What, What Now".

NH3...
I firmly believe in better weather we would have won this game. We should have won yesterday despite everything.
