They ran JRob into a loaded box the whole 4th quarter (and half of the 3rd) just to chew clock vs Indy.
C'mon. Think about that stat a little harder. They were hitting ~ 5 YPC before that quite easily.
I mean you're not wrong and maybe that's playing into the 31% stuff rate.
I know we all want them to run the ball more but I'm not sure they're very consistent or efficient at that.
It's nothing against JRob or ETN btw. I think they're fine.
I struggle with the choice of when they run and then when they do why they choose the formations they do. That 4h and 1 call to JRob against L.A. was power running that we should've seen continually last week against a bad tinhorns team, but even in short yardage the few times they called a run is was from the Shotgun. It just doesn't set the back up for success when we have a guy who is supposed to be a game breaker and the other one never seems to lose yards on a carry.

Same. At least incorporate your TE's into the formation, get them to motion outside to move somebody away from the line of scrimmage or even motion into the backfield to offer a lead block.
Hell, get really creative, have the guard, TE and RB all pull out in front of Lawrence and let him run it around the tackle for a yard or two and take a baseball slide.
He's also 6'6, can he not get behind Fortner and Scherff there and just fall forward for a first down?

RE run formations / play design
It seems like there are times when they are too cute unnecessarily - and too simple when they could have used some smoke and mirrors.
I expect that could get better situationally as we progress, but it has stood out to me a half dozen times or so
I get that we're not going to set up in the I and run lead plays all the time, but still, both backs are capable from traditional run sets.
No Leonard or Kwity Paye for clots.
JT has a chance to play.

That's good news. Hopefully Fatukasi can go. If not, we'll need Hamilton to deliver again.

Any word on Fatukasi playing? I saw he returned to practice this week but 1010 hasn't given any updates on his playing status that I've heard
I'm finding it really hard to look forward to this game last week just deflated the hell out of me

This is the "get right" week. They'll win this week. They'll beat a surprisingly good Giants team the week after as well. Then they'll lay up a stinker in London where Russell Wilson will finally have his breakout game of the 2022 season on us. Then they face murder row with the Raiders (they may or may not win this game, I think both of our teams are built the same way), Chiefs & Ravens.
As a fan, I would be happy with 4 - 7 going up against a Lions team, much like us and the Raiders, where they might have a chance to win a game after a long stretch of difficulty. Will make the final five weeks interesting depending on how the tacks fare the rest of the way this year.

He's not wrong. However, you shouldn't overlook them. Especially if this game is close in the final quarter. They can actually do something we have yet to prove this year and that's win ugly. They won ugly against the Chiefs. They won ugly against the Broncos. We've lost ugly in two ugly games. So, better make sure that confidence is backed up BIG TIME with play. They're not going to forget getting body bagged in week two.
It's week-to-week in the NFL. You think the Bills and just mailed it in after a bad loss to us last year? Yeah that HOU loss sucked for many reason but it has no barring on on games and our preparation going forward unless the team lets it. As others have said, we won 3 games last year. We can match that in 2 days and be 2-1 in the division. 3-3 (2-1) is now the goal and if anyone offered any of us that before the season we likely take it. Our team is far from a finished product. We have a lot of young talent with a new system & coaching staff. Enjoy the ride or hop off. If you cannot see our trajectory has vastly improved compared to the last 3 years then I dont know what to tell you. It's week 6 and a lot of teams a 1 game above or below .500 - I want to win every game too. /rant

So true. The NFL is always week to week.
Now Taylor out.
Let’s go!

JAX is going to have to bring the pressure against their oline. Matt Ryan looked decent when sitting in the pocket with protection. He smoked the 'Tacks secondary with time in protection.
JAX front seven has to dominate in order for the JAX to win this one.

Clots are playing really good in the secondary, nowhere near as bad as the first time JAX faced them.
I think it's going to be a low scoring game and JAX offense will struggle to put points in the board. This game will come down to defense.
Colts’ RBs Nyheim Hines (concussion) and Jonathan Taylor (ankle) both downgraded Sunday to out.
Only way Jags lose is if we TO it over to them and give them short fields or defensive TDs
Jags have a number of good players listed as questionable, but the colts are apparently more banged up than we are.
Not gonna complain
Our DL should be able to torment Ryan if we can shut down their 3rd string back (Deon Jackson - I think?)

Very true and this is our chance to snap back with a win!

I've seen this movie before, Deon Jackson is going to look like Barry Sanders
