Fox News fired Tucker Carlson today, in spite of his show having the highest ratings for the time slot. I have to wonder if this lawsuit had anything to do with that. I would guess it did not.

Paul Ryan agrees!

SAY WHAT?  You don't think the lawsuit, inclusive of the $787m settlement and the damaging texts that Tucker Carlson sent stating he despised Trump, had anything to do with his firing?
That’s funny. TMZ says Tucker and don lemon are both wanted by the up and coming News nation network.

Please say it isn't so.
NPR said it might have something to do with a sexual harassment lawsuit that was filed against the network by a former member of Tucker's staff. Tucker is not accused of making any unwelcome comments himself, but he allegedly tolerated other men on his staff creating a hostile work environment for the women. Seems like that's the kind of thing you can clean up without firing the talent. Didn't add up. But the Dominion lawsuit being the cause doesn't add up either, because that involved a lot of other Fox hosts, more than it involved Tucker.

Sounds like a personal problem
He ain't wrong. That's pure speculation, and NPR has a TON of bias.

I don't think Tucker's firing has anything to do with Dominion. He was the first person on that network to call Sidney Powell a liar. I know you moderates aren't going to want to hear this, but he probably got fired because he's anti-establishment. He is easily the most liberal Fox news pundit.

And by liberal, I mean he doesn't mind talking about the corporate capture of government.

I said NPR's speculation didn't add up.
But its also the only story I've heard so far so I thought it was worth sharing.
NPR are masters at bias by omission.
According to this article, it was a whole bunch of things that brought down Carlson, chief among them his own ego.

https://ca.finance.yahoo.com/news/fox-fi...06043.html

Lawyers for Dominion Voting Systems Inc. uncovered evidence that Carlson insulted his management, colleagues and guests. A still unresolved suit by former Fox producer Abby Grossberg accuses the popular host of misogyny and contributing to a hostile workplace. After Fox agreed to settle Dominion’s defamation case for a record $787.5 million, the Murdochs decided it was time to say goodbye to their star.

Lachlan Murdoch, Fox Corp.’s chief executive officer, and Suzanne Scott, who heads Fox News, made the decision Friday night to let Carlson go, according to a person familiar with the situation.

“He was uncontrollable,” said Angelo Carusone, president of Media Matters for America, a nonprofit group critical of the network. “At some point you get just too big for your britches.”
RFK chimes in on Tucker and gives his thoughts..

That's a hobby horse if I ever saw one.

This rings the most true to me.  Yes, some of the stuff we publicly know about factored in, but more of the factors were likely things we haven't heard yet, how he treated all the people he worked with, not just the one lady who sued.

But wouldn't a network that employs both conservative and liberal pundits be the ultimate 'fair and balanced' network? Hell, they could even reboot Crossfire with Carlson and Lemon going at it. Or, they could get Dan Ackroyd and Jane Curtin out of retirement. Man, I miss those early SNL's.

NN stays in the middle. They don’t balance opposing nitwits.
Meh.  I really couldn't care less about Tucker Carlson parting ways with FOX News.  I watched some of his show(s) because some of his monologues and interviews were mildly interesting.  He definitely wasn't my "source" of news.

That being said, I don't know if he was so much "fired".  The statement released said that "they agreed to part ways".  That could mean any number of things.  It really doesn't matter much, though he did have the largest audience and ratings.  After all, in the media business it's all about the ratings.

As far as Sean Hannity or Laura Ingraham, I never watch their shows because I know what it is... one sided partisan politics.

Honestly, for the most part I watch/listen to FOX Business during the day and switch over to FOX News at around 2:00 EST.  I also "scan" other networks to see/hear the coverage on occasion.

Agree. He can name his price now. He's a former employee of liberal fodder like the Daily Beast, CNN and MSNBC. Wherever he lands, he can be whatever they want him to be on air. Which should help us all remember that it's not the storyteller that is important, its the story.

He was fired "for cause" with no severance.
His actions are cited in two lawsuits including the one just settled with a 787 million dollar payout.
Several sites and sources have reported all of this.
