This was very much like the 2nd interception Nate Sudfeld threw in the pre-season opener against the Giants.  The Jaguars would have a noticeably better chance with their two backup QBs for a game or two than the Lions would have with Sudfeld.

Good observation.

The DB who struggled the most by far for the Lions in the 2nd half was CB Colby Richardson (# 24), an UDRFA from LSU, who the Lions signed early last week.  He was totally overmatched, including missing a tackle following a completion to WR Elijah Cooks, that resulted in a huge gain that set up the Jaguars final TD.  The two CBs that started on the outside, Starling Thomas V (#49) and Steven Gilmore (#36), are also UDRFAs. But both of them have performed well to the point that Thomas very likely will survive the cutdown to 53 and Gilmore is on the roster bubble.

Overall, in this game, the Jaguars depth was much better than the Lions depth, with the exception of Special Teams.  The Lions Offense was overmatched by the Jaguars Defense in the entire game.

Chaisson with the free 1st down

Jeremiah Ledbetter looked like the most impressive player in the entire pre-season game.  The Lions have major depth issues on the Offensive Line, behind the team's top 6 Offensive Lineman. Ledbetter reinforced this, regarding the O-Line interior, 10 fold.

Ledbetter was drafted by the Lions in Round 6, in 2017, and released in the cutdown to 53 in 2018.  Even factoring in the Offensive Lineman he was up against on Saturday, it was the type of performance that should earn him more opportunities.

He did well.
