Whether Zay plays or not it is of no moment if our O-line performs the way it did Sunday.

Entering the season I was for some reason not really concerned about the defense. My biggest fears entering the season was the O-line.
We were due for a good punch in the mouth. Use that like we did with the Lions game last year and get rolling against the garbage franchise coming to town.

That was a punch in the mouth, a [BLEEP] slap and then a swift kick in the nuts followed up by derisive laughter.

That's what I am hoping for. They needed a reality check. The 49ers came into town yesterday riding a three game losing streak. They were not about to make it four in a row. There's no excuses for how this team played yesterday. They got their [BLEEP] handed to them in all three phases of the game.

Now, it's a reality check that quickly turns into a mental toughness evaluation game this Sunday. I don't care if they win by 1 point, 3 points or 14 points. Just [BLEEP] win it. Then get prepared to do the same in Houston. Which could end up being the game of the year for our team.

That's a potential and literally "balance of your fate hangs here" game for the remainder of this year. They said it on the radio today. It feels like the tinhorns this year are us from last year and we're now this year's tacks from last year.

All of that nonsense gets put to bed by getting it corrected this Sunday and next Sunday.
This game is massive. Win the next two, and your chances of a playoff birth are high.

This is it. Every game needs to be treated like it's sudden death. Win or go home. I know Doug keeps telling the press and media here that he's telling this team that they haven't done anything yet. It's true. They haven't. So, why is it not resonating with them then? They looked gutless yesterday. Gutless.

Where's the fire? Where's the energy? Where's the nastiness? Where's the mean streak? They got completely manhandled yesterday. That's what great teams do. If you want to be great like that? Take control of the line of scrimmage like they did. Show some [BLEEP] courage and trust out there.

Let it [BLEEP] rip offensively. Less of this east and west [BLEEP]. Get north and [BLEEP] south. Get downhill. Get physical. Line the mother [BLEEP] up in power and let's go. Figure it out. Drive with your legs. Find your [BLEEP] balls boys. Tell your wife to [BLEEP] off about going out the night before.

This is the NFL now. Not Clemson university. Not your school you went to. Get serious.

We looked like wussies yesterday. They took our lunch money on the playground and told us to like it.

You can yell all you want bro, it won't fix this problem.
Very impressed with the Niners. They dominated both lines of scrimmage. Dared Jags to go over the top. Packed 6, 7,8 men on the D line. Committed to run downhill all day.

More importantly, the organization built their team on both lines, from the inside out. Then focused on players that pressure the QB. That's the best team I've watched this season.

Possibly, but was that due to mistaken design/philosophy or due to what was available?  I keep hearing complaints about the Bigsby and Strange picks versus what we could have had at IOL, but there weren't but a couple of IOL guys taken in the 2nd and 3rd rounds which means the rest of the league didn't value the guys on the board that highly.  Several were taken in the 4th, but I don't know much about O-line play outside of Jacksonville so I'll leave that to someone else.

It's not just a last offseason problem, we've not done well building the lines through the draft in forever. Think how different this team would be today if we'd simply taken O'Cyrus Torrence (Brenton Strange 2 picks later) and Jamaree Salyer (Snoop Connor the round before, Greg Junior right after) the last two drafts. We just refuse to draft guards, instead we play tackles as guards (Little, Bartch) and draft a guard to play center (Fortner). I mean, A.J. Cann was the last time they drafted a guard and played him at guard but he was terrible. The last successful one we took was Uche Nwaneri over 15 years ago. It's uncanny just how bad they've been at this across administrations.
There's going to be a game very soon where we put it all together and absolutely destroy someone.

Doing it to the T*tans would be damn sweeeeeet.
I hope to see more D'Ernest Johnson this game. He's clearly the RB2.

Just saw this on Twitter
Ouch, not good.
Ok, so I sat in crap weather and watched the 49er game. Endured the 49er fans that came down from the nose bleed sections to gloat in the seats left by the fans that left in the 3rd quarter. I have thought about this for a bit. The only silver lining I can see is if this team has any pride they will rebound the next 2 games with a vengeance.

We are 6-3, with everything we want in front of us. If you could before the season began be guaranteed 6-3 with a 1 game division lead at this point would you take it? This game is a must win for us as it will set up a Texans game for the division lead. I always felt the division would be a bloody war this year as we were going to play a first place schedule. (which we have failed at in the past)

I hope Larry, Moe and Curly don't suit up this week again in Jag uniforms.
Last year we were 2-7 at this time, let that sink in.

Yeah, what a hole we put ourselves in this year?  How can we ever recover?

(Ackshully we were 3-6 last year at this point and then lost to go to 3-7.  We were never 2-7.)
