That TD drop by Ridley was painful.  But for him to come back and get the Octopus in the 3rd Quarter was clutch.  Allen and Walker together are a monster matchup.  They are like Henderson and Stroud but on the tackles!!  I'd love to keep both of them together for a while...

Off topic but...I'm not sure we'll have money to sign both Ridley and Allen.

If you had to choose, who'd you keep and who'd you let go to Free Agency?

Is this seriously a question? 26 yr old rusher >>>> 30 yr old receiver
Nothing ugly about it, that was a great game against a great young QB.

This is where Baalke makes his money. He's got to be shrewd and make some "controversial" decisions.

To stay competitive over the long haul with a cap-eating stud QB, Baalke must take strategic free-agent losses in some areas and not force draft immediate replacements, ala Caldwell.

I still don’t understand how it’s a question lol. In no world do you keep a B level receiver over a guy that’s going to push 15 sacks lol

This. Re-sign Josh, draft a receiver in the top 3 picks. We are fine with Engram, Kirk, Zay, and a promising rookie.

Let's discuss the draft after the season, for the first time in a while. Plenty of time after the season to bash your favorite scapegoat, Monday morning QB past picks, etc.  But then after a good win what do the trolls have to hang their hat on and deflect the fact we have a 2 game lead in the division....?

We’re fans. We get to discuss what we want when we want to lol.

How Josh has been playing, dude is right behind Trevor as far as importance to this team.
Ridley with his 2nd or 3rd dropped TD on the season. I’m not even considering him next season. Meanwhile Josh Allen has my attention with 11.5 sacks. Needs 3.5 sacks to set the franchise record and will most likely top Tony Brackens’ 55 career sacks at some point.

Allen had 3 sacks against Colts, 2.5 against Texans. He’s been the MVP on defense.

Shout out to my boy Herndon for another solid game. Holler at me when he has a bad game.

Yeah, you are changing my mind.

Our Receivers are so money...  Ridley was supposed to be a game changer for our WRs...  You know who's the real game changer, Zay Jones and Kirk, and Engram...  Those 3 are so money.  Ridley is good.  But he's only getting the flowers now that Zay has been back in the line up...  When Zay was out with his knee injury, Ridley was a ghost.

It's a tough call.

But honestly, I'd rather keep cheaper WRs and pay Allen and eventually Walker for a few years.   And don't forget, Oloukun needs to get re-upped too to ensure this defense is legit.  Our WR group has a few years left in it.  If Ridley wants to test Free Agency, I'd rather him go then Allen.
Wimgard  said it right about the win.  he said it was a gritty win..  also the Teal of doom only allowed 14 points today, the last td was a give me from the int  due to non-pass interfence call.

Nowhere in this discussion about whom to keep and whom to let go does anyone say anything about cost.  These decisions will depend on the cost.

But, regardless of that, I would say there is no way we let Josh Allen leave.  We will franchise tag him if it comes to that.
No game ball for the refs. If an officiating unit is giving out make up calls, it is fundamentally flawed.
Man how clutch was allen
shout out to kirk, hes been getting some monster YAC plays lately.
We won. Nothing ugly or worthy of complaining with what I saw today. I thought Lawrence was playing pretty well. Not an amazing day for anybody really, but it was solid by all groups. We got beat largely by special teams earlier in the year, they played a lot better today. We had some surprising drops and a few missed tackles that were a little off putting but we know they were probably the hottest team in the league up to this week and we took control of the division.
I think Doug Pederson is very consistent in winning games we are supposed to win.  Also, I was impressed at how we responded when the Texans went up 14-13.  We didn't panic, just came right back and re-took the lead, and I think that kind of steadiness is because of Doug Pederson.

And an unrelated comment: 8 straight road wins?  6-0 on the road this year?  That's pretty damn good.

Game balls: Trevor and Josh Allen.  And Trent Baalke for picking up Ezra Cleveland, which sure came in handy this game.
(11-26-2023, 05:22 PM)OG-JAGFAN Wrote: [ -> ]Lawrence:  Although he missed some big time throws he made many more positive plays than negative. The one int was a clear miss by the refs. 364 yds, 2 total tds

Ridley: Just as I was writing him off he has put together 2 big games back to back.  5 catches 89 yds 1 td and a 2 point catch

Kirk: Another 4 catch 89 yard effort

Farrell: 3 catches for 55 yards

Josh Allen: Another 2.5 sack game. He was felt

Walker: A key assist in a late game sack

Mcmanus: Despite the miss the guy has been great for us

I am usually pretty hard on Trevor because I know his ceiling is, well he doesn't have one... All QBs miss some and tbf if Ridley hangs on its a 3 TD day, at least. He did miss a guy in the redzone that if the throw were on time its a 4TD day, can't really complain.

Being good on the road bodes well if we make a deep playoff run.

I don't understand how we get the interns each week. At some point the league has to recognize that we're a good team and deserve competent refs.

OK, maybe I do understand why.
