I wish for a natural death to come sooner.  The Jan 6 protestors set up a gallows.  They weren't going to wait on the Lord's timing.  Having a politician die violently only ever makes things worse. We don't need the spirit of revenge, for one thing.

It's interesting to think, though, where our political situation would go if Trump was not around.  The MAGA movement is based on one person.  What happens when there's no Trump?  After all, he is 78 and eats lots of fast foods, he's overweight, and is obviously subject to a lot of stress these days.  There are some signs of mental decline.  He will be dead pretty soon, from natural causes.  He might make it through a second term, or he might not.  What are you Trump fans going to do when he's no longer with us?  Because, after all, as some of you have stated many times, this is the ONLY PERSON who can fight for the causes you believe in.

I think it's more accurate to say the MAGA movement was inspired by one person.  Hopefully it will continue, regardless of Trump.  I want to see America become great again and will support whatever candidate I believe is most likely to get us there.  Do you want the same, or are you content with the current state of affairs?

Lol, this whole [BLEEP] administration you voted for is NOTHING but revenge, revenge for the audacity to defeat the American Left and Hillary Clinton at the polls. And they've gone to great lengths to insure they get it with the willing help of the Squishes.

Firstly, I am not a Trump fan. I do think he fights the establishment, and I do think that is what this country needs. Trump is a narcissist. He's inarticulate. He's petty and bullish. Those traits are what keeps him going, and I will take that if it means going after articulate, calculating, greedy narcissists who are slowly destroying American values and opportunities.

Secondly, he's not the only person who can do it, but he's got the opportunity.

Thirdly, your cause and effect is backwards. The MAGA movement is not based on Trump. It was already there. Trump just put his finger on the pulse of American frustration and is able to mobilize a base that is desperately hoping for someone to right the ship. You and Mikey are cool with the ship going down so long as the band keeps playing. Of course, you don't believe the ship is going down because the band is playing. Shame on Trump for interrupting the show. He's really ruining the whole "cruise." Kick him off.

You fail to appreciate that while "MAGA" includes many trains of thought and possible courses of action, it has now become a cult of personality.  If Trump is gone, his acolytes will emphasize different things and start fighting each other for dominance.  It seems unlikely that any one of them will be able to reassemble the cult of personality that held it together.

Trump is a personality, but the movement was growing way before Trump. There is reason the establishment is trying to bury the movement, which includes not just political persecution of Trump and his followers, but censorship and othering. I was just listening to all Al Gore speak today about the importance of people getting their news via msm. Haley wants to remove anonymity. It's about control of the narrative first and foremost, and that's not just because of Trump.

You're right.  Pat Buchanan is basically an earlier prototype of Trump. Then Newt Gingrich. Then Rick Scott.  The political right has had a hunger to push boundaries and reject secular systems of thought for a very long time.  It used to be within the bounds of western christianity.  Now it's unbounded.  So more than ever it needs a strong personality to hold it together.
That's a terrible analysis. You really don't get it, do you?

Do some research on the gallows. What has been reported are lies and fantasy. The gallows were admitted to some type of art installment and were not functional. No one knows who set them up and they were done in the early morning. Videos have surfaced and there is 1 person people who are on this are looking for. He happened to buy coffee nearby. The feds want nothing to do with identifying him ... many thoughts that this is a fed and they set them up.

This is true, because Trump has a unique ability to generate fear and intimidation, and that keeps the Republican Party in line with him.  When he's gone, it'll all fracture because no one else that I see has that kind of talent.

They are afraid of the sway he has over his loyal voters.  Trump has been mum as these Republican debates play out and has avoided engaging the other Republican candidates.  The only reason any of them are willing to say anything bad about Trump is because Christie is standing there saying worse and Christie will probably take the brunt of the assault once Trump decides to engage.  It's a delicate act because as you know a Haley or a DeSantis needs almost every Trump loyalist to show up for them in the general.
Then they aren't afraid of Trump, they are afraid of Trump's base. There's a big difference. It should also be an indicator of who holds the power. His base trusts him and mistrusts the establishment in the same way you trust the establishment and mistrust Trump. You seem to think Trump can do whatever he wants and keep support. Sure, for a small minority, that's true. The same way it's true for Dems or the establishment GOP. However, he would immediately lose most of his support if he rolled over and stopped attacking the corruption in our government. The vast majority of his support is based on that and that alone.
