This is why Fred should have went in the hall instead of Hester.

I wouldn't even say Slater makes the Hall of the Recognizable.
He's considered the best gunner in NFL history.

lemme know when the best long snapper in NFL history gets in. Shieldfan cares about tuddies.

Fred will get in before Matthew Slater.

@There, I said it@
Hester is in because he is/was the best at his position. Fred was not. I sure hope he gets his chance, but knocking someone for getting in when they were the best at their position is weird.

I have no problem with Hester getting in.  But Hester in over Antonio Gates is comical

And Matthew Slater was apparently the best at his.  Similar amount of playing time, too.

Maybe there should be a special teams wing of the Hall. Put Vinatieri in there too.
Wait until Vinateri goes in before Fred
Fred Taylor is again on the semi-finalist list for this upcoming year.

I didn’t realize Holt has been waiting that long.
I can't see Fred getting in.. At least yet.

Do I like it? Hell no..
This is going to sound weird, but the worse the Jaguars are this season the better Fred's chances are for the HoF. The worst 2 teams in the league are usually selected for that first preseason "Hall of Fame Game". I believe we were playing in that game when Bosselli was enshrined in the hall. If we're going to be in Canton anyway, I think that might be that slight edge Taylor needs to get over the hump. Holt has been a semifinalist 11 times (most of the current crop of semifinalists) and Fred has been a semi finalist 6 times (second most of the current crop of finalists) It would be really cool if both guys with Jaguars ties were elected to the Hall in the same year with the current roster in attendance.

This is probably Fred's best shot based on the other candidates on the semi finalist list. The only "lock(s)" I see are Antonio Gates and James Harrison. After them I think they enshrine one lineman, one more skill player, and one more player beyond that (probably defense). hoping that Fred can squeak in this year because if not, I think it'll be another 3 years at least since there are some first ballot guys and other guys like Adrian Peterson at his same position that'll become eligible over the next few years that may logjam him out.

I bet his season here in Jacksonville didn't help him...

He'll have to do just like Boselli and hope there's a slow year that he can get in...with Brady, Brees, AP, all in the wings, it's going to be an uphill battle.

I think they pick the teams based on the enshrinees, not the other way around.

Otherwise we'd have been in the HOF game like 5 times over the past decade.

Hines Ward and Darren Woodson semifinalist 9 times. Reggie Wayne 6 times.
here's the bigger question, will history repeat itself if taylor gets in.   In 2022 Tony Boselli gets into hall of fame, the same year jags make the playoffs.  That would be cool if that kind of history repeating except jags get farther in playoffs
Freddy T gettin' some love

Hat Tip to my son and a brag for his gift giving.

A finalist again

I think Torry Holt, Antonio Gatres, and Kuechly gets in . Steve Smith should get in as well. Hopefully Fred gets in but its going to be hard to get in once again.
