I think he makes the throw in a real game.  He wanted a deep shot to BT7 and by the time he brought his eyes down he was staring down the barrel of the rush. Maybe wasn’t trying to take that hit in preseason but idk.

Engram did not make his second break of the route until almost the exact moment TL saw the pressure coming in his right peripheral. He probably let's that fly in a reg. season game. He pulled it down last night and flushed. No biggie.

Honestly - the play call should have had two options that didn't require him to hold the ball 2.8 seconds before the break move of the nearest receiver. That one is on Press IMO. Too long of a developing route on the only underneath option when you need 5 yards on 3rd or 4th down. TL should have had a quicker dump off option in that situation.

The haters will hate me for this, but we are seeing quite a lot of development from Baalke's second year picks through camp and one preseason game. I hope it is more than just preseason flashes.
If Strange gets involved in this trend, some folks are going to be eating even more helpings of GM-crow around here.

Strange got open fairly easy a few times last night but CJ failed to find him.

The big miss on the drag or slant route was frustrating. He was untouched at the line and got open cleanly. If he catches that ball he has plenty of time to rev up and truck somebody.

I hope we see a lot of twin TE stuff this year with him and Engram stacked. Could set up some nice RB toss and sweep plays as well.

The good was the team played well overall.

The bad is the defense got shredded most of that first dirve.

The ugly were the refs. They called every 50/50 call against the Jaguars while missing blatant calls. You would of thought this game was in KC with vegas odds.
If Morse can stop the push up the middle, I think we are going to see a different Trevor this year.
does anyone have highlights of the 63yd. fg attempt. how much of a miss was it?

I do agree here. I think he rips it to Engram regular season. Standing in and making that throw would’ve given him a hit I’m good missing out on. He probably made a business decision there.

I’m not worried about it.

He had the distance but pulled it left a bit  - it appears his kicks mostly seem to have a right to left movement naturally from his technique - that one got away from him a bit - not a bad effort from that distance

That was straight out of the movie "Replacements" and all Madden
I can see why baalke drafted Myles cole

That bloke is huge on screen

Hopefully he makes the PS and we can develop him into a quality backup

Also for the bad, I was severely dissapointed with muma

What did Muma do that was disappointing exactly? I must have missed it. You're the second poster to say something about him playing poorly, and I've seen beat writers praising him.

I saw him make back to back great stops in the first quarter.
Watch the two plays beginning at 1:54 in this video where he shoots the gap and stops a run up the middle for less than a yard, and then sniffs out a pass to the flat the very next play for no gain:

I will have to go back and watch the game again to confirm but I just felt that he was outshone by the rookies, even miller who i am confident he is made out of glass looked ahead of him depth wise.
I was hoping for a bigger leap from muma under Nielsen this year

It's week one of preseason? Maybe being one of four players last night with 3 tackles when he apparently only played 2 series isn't a bad start? (two of those tackles coming on back-to-back impactful plays that led to a chiefs punt)

Only one player had more tackles BTW.

He pulled it by a little bit....not a bad kick.  The impressive thing on the kick is, if straighter, would have been good for a 70 yard kick.
Some others...

Good:
Surprising DE depth play...Gipson, Abdullah, Coleman, and others were hustling and making plays.
Walker Little...I want Harrison back but Little has become a very good and valuable swing tackle.
Gabe Davis...he gets open and is a big target.

Bad:
BTJ...the rookie did not separate at all in his routes, it will need to develop and change.

Ugly:
Fortner...nice guy but he continues to be a liability.

The only alarming bit about that run was Washington let his focus on ball security lapse. He had the ball hanging way off of his body. I'm sure it's been addressed.

100%
Fortner gives me bad ptsd
Also not mentioned yet was Edmunds. He was wrecking people out there last night. Knocked the ball out twice with violent, legal hits.

That one where he popped the ball out but the WR was lucky enough to catch it again was beautiful.

Also looks like Gipson is back in the secondary. I always liked him back in the Sacksonville days.

That hit was damn good

9/10 that is our ball, lady luck was against us with that one
