Your arguing and trying to justify your behavior shows our opinion doesn't matter.

I simply don't agree with you.  That doesn't mean your opinion doesn't matter.  Yours matters just as much as mine or anyone else's.  I'll even agree your opinion is more informed and therefore more persuasive than mine.  But people are allowed to disagree with each other in a free country.  That is what you fought for.  And if I disagree it doesn't mean I don't like or that I don't care about you.
You guys tend to follow Mikey's rabbit trails.

The point, simply put, is that Mikey has his face shoved in Trump's lies but lies like the ones Kamala and Timmy Tampon make are routinely explained away, which are just lies, too. He accepts all kinds of lies, but he wants you to hold Trump's feet to the fire over "lies" we don't care about. It's not like we don't know his hands aren't the biggest in the world, or that he exaggerates almost everything. It's that we don't care because his policies favor us. Yet, even still, Mikey is just walking through this thread like these particular lies are special. They are just misspeaks.

You misunderstand me.
I do think Trump lies more often about more important things than Harris or Walz, but that's not why I'm voting against him.
I didn't start this thread.
This thread was started to try to show me that Walz lied about something.  When I said his lie doesn't matter to me, three different former members of the armed forces told me to never again speak on matters of the military.  The rest of the thread is about how odd that is, given how frequently we disagree about other stuff, that it's only these very technical topics about military terminology that get that kind of reaction.

That's because they understand how blatantly dishonorable behavior like yours and A-Walz's is.

False. All I said was it's too small of an issue to change my vote.  Most of them admitted that they would still vote for Trump if the situation was reversed.  So even though they don't like me calling it a "small issue" or a "little lie", in effect it's the same.  It doesn't change my vote, and it wouldn't change theirs.

Note that this is not a disagreement about how the military works, or about how the military should work. It's only a disagreement about how important it is to avoid saying "I was rank X in the military" when indeed you used to be rank X but upon retirement were demoted to rank Y.

The bottom line is these folks can tolerate disagreement, and they can tolerate people who don't know military terms, but something in them sets off when someone disagrees with them who also doesn't know military terms.  They can't just let it be.

The median IQ in this country is 98.  That means more than half the people you encounter have a double-digit IQ.
The truth is half of the US population is between 90-110, which is a relatively mild deviation. Technically, the range for average is 85-115, which makes up almost 70% of the country. Only 15% of anyone you will ever meet will be smarter than that, and only 15% will be dumber than that. Unless you've been tested, odds are you're just an average dude that is attempting to dismiss your own bias by pretending we're just dumber than you. Not really sure where you're going with that "flex."

Look, dummy. This is a lie he told to boost his credibility. It's that simple. It's no different than Trump. You just allow it. Why? Because it comes reinforced by the establishment. You're not principled, just complacent.

About intentionally lying about your military service record to improve your perceived standing among a voting population.* Again, you're the same kind of dishonorable as Captain Kotex, so it's not surprise that you hand wave it away.

The problem is that the core values that are taught, at least in the Navy are Honor, Courage and Commitment.  He failed at all three.

It was not a "mistake", he knew exactly what he was doing.  Intentionally lying about his military service for political gain.  To those of us that served that is no "small issue" or "little lie".  It shows an extreme lack of core values and an extreme lack of character.  It is no surprise to me that you would vote for someone like that.

You tried, but there is no nice way to say "sit down and shut up."

Allow me to offer you some additional albeit unrequested advice:

1.  If you are going to act as the “expert” on every single topic that comes up, develop a thicker skin.

2.  When it comes to the mindset of someone that served you know nothing.  A google search cannot and will not help you in this matter.  I have not knowingly met a single member of the Duval Pride family that has served, and yet I have a deep connection with each and every single one of them beyond a passion for the Jaguars.  You will never understand what we shared unless you shared it with us.

3.  When you question any of us about a military matter you better expect several of us to rise up come after you, because we will.  What Waltz did was no accident.  He deliberately lied for political gain, period!

I hope this helps you in future discussions.  Carry on.

I never said I would vote against Trump because of his lies and exaggerations.  I have other reasons for voting against him, and the reasons have changed over time.  People forget I didn't start posting in the politics section here until 2018.

Indoctrination - the process of teaching a person or group to accept a set of beliefs uncritically.

"prisoners are subjected to brainwashing, indoctrination, and punishment"

Most hardcore left wing liberals have that "I am holier than thou" way of thinking.  They tell you do not believe your lying eyes.  You have college professors that may be smart in their field but absolute morons when it comes to real life.  There is also something called "wisdom" that is under valued.

My IQ must be 35 because I do not believe any of the "facts" the Dumbocrats have tried to feed me.

*Bideonomics!  It saved the Economy! People have cash just flowing out of their pockets! Homes are so easy to get and the interest rates are at basement bottom interest rates
*The border!  There is no problem at the border!  Every immigrant coming in here is legal, screened and verified.  Harris as the Border Czar had it under Control!  Cities like San Francisco, Chicago, NY, Portland and every other left wing city are some of the safest places to raise kids on the planet! Record low crime numbers!
*Biden was as Sharp as a razor and you feel like a mental midget next to him. You were a moron to question his cognitive decline. There was never any issues of cognitive decline.  It was DEEP FAKES! The hundreds of videos where he is clearly showing signs of Dementia dating back to 2019 were all DEEP fakes and lies!
*Harris has a clear, detailed, laid out plan to save this country.  She will Unite the country and make us all great again.  Her Track record along with her inspiring speeches are something all Americans should cherish.
*Trump is a crook that should be in prison for hundreds of years.  How dare he agree with the Banks assessment on his property value or be the first one ever to pay off some hooker.  I know typically that lawyers are saying, is a low level crime that almost always ends in no jail time.  Throwing 34 felonies at him and saying the word Felon over and over again, made me believe it!

It's funny... I have a progressive friend who is super intelligent. We were having this conversation about conservative "fear." One of the examples he gave was how conservatives were howling about immigration before it was even a problem, then admitted it's a problem now. He can't reconcile that sometimes pointing out the threat has nothing to do with fear but with wisdom. He went on to talk about how they are ranting about crime, but the stats don't show an increase in crime. He'll see in a few years, but he won't remember the warning by then.

Smart people seem to forget other people aren't smart. They also think people in positions or degrees like them are smart. So they say look at the data, it shows no increase. What they forget is they are only looking at data that is captured. They stop there because MSM, who wouldn't lie to them, told them the data shows it's fine. They don't care to look further and see the cities not reporting data anymore or the fact that crimes aren't reported, investigated, or charged. The stats are manipulated to remain the same while the reality is much different and these liberals usually aren't affected.
