The Jags Oline will be tested, don't forget that the Brown's had the #1 defense last year. If you look at the Texans playoff game last year, misdirection is the key to beating their aggressive defense. Hopefully Pederson can draw up some of those plays, otherwise it'll be an extremely tough game for the offense.
this game should be a get right game, as well as we moved the ball at times on sunday. Browns didn't look good at all. and watson holding the ball very long, 4 to 5 secs. even his Oline are pissed at their QB they have alot going on behind the scenese their. but we need to clean up our own crap. let Trevor throw, and protect him, i'm looking at you Cam.
Man I’m still crushed by the last game. I hope the team is motivated by it and come out with determination and focus.
Despite the terrible performance of Watson and the Browns team as a whole, this will not be an easy game. Browns defense is very good and will present problems for the Jaguars.
After the home game with the Browns, two road games against the Bills and Texans.

Have to get back on track and win early.
It'll be fine I am sure. We'll look back and laugh at week one after they rip off three wins in a row and get a +1 on the Bills and tinhorns towards the play-off seeding race.

Either that's sarcasm or your anti-depressants finally took hold. Tongue

Or that'll be the one game that allows Miami home field advantage while we get the two seed.

Everything is on the table right now.

We started 2-6 in 2022 on our way to the playoffs.

We started 8-3 in 2023 on our way to not the playoffs.

It's reverse psychology.

Tua won't make it a full season this year. He shed 15 pounds to move faster and they have two new offensive lineman in the mix. I bet Buffalo or New England gets to him at some point defensively in one of their four contests and he's going to miss probably a month or more of football.

Just a feeling.

As above. So below.
As I've gotten older my ability to keep my emotions in check has prevailed although I never held some of the waffling that occurs around here.

I'll get worried or not about week 8. I think week 8 we'll know enough to make reactions. I know for a fact Sundays game doesn't matter and honestly we played well enough to win against what should be a real good team if their health holds.

If it's to be another concussion related injury, I'm not sure he should come back on the field ever again after we saw the immediate effect on the field of his last one.  Those injuries become more and more likely with less and less trauma and if he shows another visible sign of involuntary movement... I think it might be career ending.

I don't think we'll see him twitching on the field like a mouse that got swatted with a heavy broom or like Hodor as a young man from Game of Thrones when Bran broke his mind.

But, I think he'll probably bang up his ankle, knee or throwing shoulder. Especially against a divisional rival. I forget that they also have the Jets to contest with this year twice as well. There's some pretty fast and physical defenses in that division. Just feels inevitable that a guy of his frame, especially after shedding 15 pounds off, is bound to get hurt for an extensive period of time.
Must win game this week and week 4 vs texans would be a huge win.

Does Pederson have his fastball anymore? I don't think he's all that innovative anymore, and his understudy doesn't seem to be bringing much to the table. Is McCoy still on staff? Why not give him a try calling plays...

Wow, must win in ummmm week 2? Gosh.

They're not in tank mode. They're being tanked by a QB that is now past his prime after being yanked out of Houston though. Biggest overpaid wanker in the NFL.

Cleveland has been competitive in a tough AFC North. Stefanski is a solid coach. Just sandbagged by poor QB play and circumstances along with no Nick Chubb at RB due to injuries.

They're a middling team just like our team. This game can go either way but I am going to favor our team at home in this one after a tough road loss.

Maybe Stefanski will get canned and Pederson can hire him to coach the offense.

Maybe not exactly, but look at Dougs presser he's feeling the pressure in week 1! I just don't want to fall behind the tinhorns.

Wouldn't be a bad idea. Wouldn't have minded Frank Reich here when Carolina let him go.

That's just Doug being Doug and salty as [BLEEP] after a loss. I didn't really get a sense of change from him there, nor any pressure. I just think that's his usual tone after any loss.

With that said, every game should feel like it's a "must win" game until you're guaranteed a seed in the play-off tournament. Never liked the idea of "lay up" games or "throw away" games. But, for me, every game is a must win game until we're around week 14 - 17 and you're realistically looking ahead at either already in the play-off's, or, maybe there's a chance you can jump up a seed or two, etc.

Sometimes teams want to rest their starters. Sometimes they don't.
With losing streak we’ve been on going back to last year, every game is a must win at the moment.

Maybe not a must win but your chances go down to under 10% after starting 0-2. Not good odds
