This seems to be it. If he doesn't hit the target we get a 7th and 5th, if he does we get a 4th.
Sadly that's quite a sensible deal.
We gave up the 7th, we only get one pick for this.
MN gives the 7th back to us if a playing time target isn't met. Not sure if it's the same target that turns the 5th into a 4th.

You don’t get much for trades like these unfortunately. That’s why I say don’t trade anyone you NEED next season. Don’t be short sided.

This move has to mean Anton is about to be your starting LT.

Yea likely next year... Little will play out this season as LT and then walk in FA and go start somewhere else at LT next season for another team.

Happy with this trade, the Oline has been better in Cams absence, Harrison can move over to left though it does create a whole at RT for next year, which arguably we already had as I don’t think our tackles were good enough.

Idk if any of these moves signal Baalke staying or not. I’d lean towards they mean nothing about his job status. He IS still the current GM. Is Shad supposed to tell him “I’m firing you at the end of the season so you can’t do your job at all during this season”?
His job at this very moment is to build a roster through draft, FA, trades. Him doing that while he’s still employed doesn’t say anything about his future job status IMO.

I didn't think there was a market for Cam but if we, as is being suggested, are paying part of his money then it changes a bit. Trading him means we're planning for next season IMO. Get rid of a guy that won't be here and try the backup instead.

True, I get they don't have much more to offer picks wise just would like some ammunition for the next GM to make some moves for next years draft.
But maybe these extra 2026 picks help down the road.
(no guarantee Baalke is making picks in 2026)

That's fine.
It's better than benching him and letting him walk.
Stupid trade.

The comp pick would be higher if someone signed him to a Jawaan Taylor-sized deal and we stay relatively quiet in FA. There's two sides to the compy formula.
If we spend like oilbarons, we don't get anything of value to counter his loss. If he doesn't sign for $TEXAS we don't get anything of value to counter his loss.
The deal is fine, as others noted just because the picks fall into 2026 doesn't mean we can't use them in the next darft to move around, unless the condition is somehow based on 2025 performance.

He is a LT and would have signed near the tag value for a year or 2. I just hope someone else approved the deal other than Baalke as he hopefully won't be here.

Using this formula the comp pick would have been a 5th or 6th depending...so at worst we break even. If Cam performs well we would gain a round (4th) A bird in the hand...

I predicted somewhere in an earlier thread that trading Cam Robinson without a solid backup was a bad idea, now I'll have to sit back and see if I was right. I agree that Cam's attitude was trade worthy, but I have a bad feeling about a below-average line starting a new LT mid-season. Good luck and Godspeed Trevor Lawrence.

But he's not a new left tackle. He just played two games at LT, has played 6 straight games at LT at the end of the 22 season.
He's fine...just not a top 15 LT.
