I wonder if the playing incentives include this season aswell. Their starting LT got injured so think he'll probably be playing relatively soon for them.

It would have to, hes a FA at the end of the season and he wont be taking Darrisaw's job.  We just need him to stay healthy.

That's a good point. Didn't take that into account. I'm guessing there's a % of games and things like making playoffs in the deal which is looking likely right now.

Suddenly I'm rooting for Cam!!

Why is that exactly? What are the terms? Does it require he resign with them or just snaps this season?

Playing time, they haven't said how much.  Cam is a FA at the end of the year and Darrisaw is one of the better LT's in the league so Cam is just a rental for the Vikings for the rest of the year.

Yeah, its likely a snap count or games started.  If he plays the rest of the season for the Vikings he will likely meet the criteria imo.  Its the only way that stipulation makes any sense.

Agreed, if he does the 7th goes away and the 5th becomes a 4th. This has Baalkie written all over it, just like when we rented a WR from Atlanta.

Yeah I think your right. I can't think the threshold for the 4th can be crazy high like SB appearance.

This seems to be it. If he doesn't hit the target we get a 7th and 5th, if he does we get a 4th.

Sadly that's quite a sensible deal.

We gave up the 7th, we only get one pick for this.

That's a big contract to trade away so that's good, but doesn't look good for us shedding Trent anytime soon.

That's fine.

It's better than benching him and letting him walk.
The comp pick would have been higher if he is starting and would also be for 2026.

Stupid trade.

"if he is starting"

The dude is a "I only play LT or I throw a hissy fit" poster boy and there are 28 LTs better than him in this league.
We'll see how that works out.

I'm good with it.
I like the message too.

Baalke ain't goin' nowhere.

We can all see this happening. I wonder who are the actual coaching options with Baalke at GM. Gotta think retreads nobody else will want…Robert Salah?

You only get a comp pick for him if we don't do nothing in FA.  I think we make moves in FA in 2025 being where we are and the cap space we will have

I wonder if the team knows you can save money by drafting and developing players?

Exactly.  We are guaranteed a 5th round 2026 pick and only give up a 7th round 2026 pick and Cam.  This can turn into a 4th for Cam only if he plays enough. Meaning we get to keep that 7th round camp body pick.  A bird in the hand....
