So I feel as if the season is pretty much over (dramatic I know)
With the hope that we get a new GM next year, who are popular opinions?
I must admit I’m limited with knowing about personnel but Ian Cunningham assistant gm from the bears is a name that looks good to me, done some work with Ozzie Newsome, has been part of the Bears rebuild, he pulled himself out of the running for Cardinals last year, but he seems to fit a lot of bills for me.
You're not exactly leading with your chin by stating the season is pretty much over.
Ian Cunningham came up on one of T-Wigg's podcasts a month ago I think. I think Gm wise it needs to be someone that's a little bit more proven. For that reason. I really like Ray Agnew with Ben Johnson from DET and potentially, in my opinion, a really good combination for what this team needs right now, it would be Mike Borgonzi and Steve Spagnuolo with KC.

Potentially, as I say I’m no expert with personnel but from what I’ve seen of that Cunningham he seems to tick a lot of boxes, Newsome thought highly of him apparently which I like.
Johnson needs to be target number 1 for HC
Baalke

Those two names are not leaving KC. I believe they interviewed for some other teams before and declined.
I think the best thing about Jacksonville is that we aren't in the NFC North...
I have a feeling that Ben Johnson doesn't want a HC spot in the NFC North, since he's been coaching there.
Same with the GM's in the NFC North. They aren't going to want to go up against their buddies.
Shad has money. If he's willing to pay, I think he can attract the best of the best. A fresh restart with proven front office guys and Ben Johnson, who has proven himself as a great OC would be the perfect fit here. It's just a matter of time.
Shad just invested into the Jacksonville area for the next 30 years. He's looking long term. If he's wise enough to know what it takes to keep the fanbase engaged, he's gonna get rid of Baalke and Pederson and begin the rebuild while the stadium is under construction. We're gonna suck this year. But next year, we can become competitive with the right GM and HC. And then we build on that for when the stadium is ready in 2027.
And just imagine, at one point, they had talks of Adrian Wilson being GM.
I'd definitely want to try out a former player as the next GM.

I just hope he doesn't wait too long. He needs to hire someone asap to start vetting potential hires and finding the right fits. Otherwise he will take too long to find a GM and miss out on a coach or hire a coach first and end up in the same situation as now.
Jags need an EVP now. I don't care what title you give them so Baalke doesn't complain to the league again. Just have them there now, figuring out who to fire in the building (outside of coaching and gm), setting up proper structure, and vetting gm and coaching hires.

Tony Boselli is the perfect ambassador for what happens next.
I totally agree with what your saying. I just think that you need an EVP that has passion for the city and the franchise. There is no other person that could do it besides Tony. Maybe David Garrard? But I don't think David has the make up for what an EVP needs to be successful.. Boselli does. He's the perfect spokesman for this franchise.

EVPs are neither ambassadors nor spokesmen, they have actually [BLEEP] jobs that Boselli doesn't know a thing about doing. Stop this nonsense.
What about Bucky Brooks he seems to have alot of insight on Jaguars and football as a whole
I feel for your guys, really I do. To follow up the absolute dejection of this lost season that was so full of expectation, to turn right around and put yourselves back in the same position this offseason is going to make the pain even worse.
But I have good news!
Eventually you'll have been hurt so many times that the tough callused scar tissue the surrounds your heart will protect you from the agony you feel today. Just push through this next disappointment and, for many of you, the return of Trent Baalke next year will be the final catalyst that moves you past the pain. Freedom awaits on the other side, come join me!

gooble, gobble ONE OF US
I am always shocked when change happens. This is looking like patience measured by half. No full on self awareness.
Team callous
Team apathy

An EVP isn't a cheerleader for the city and team. It's so goofy that some of you are wanting Boselli as the EVP when he has absolutely zero front office experience.
Whatever, Khan will sign Baalke to a new 5 year contract at the end of the season

He'll probably announce it in the next few weeks. Doesn't want to take the chance he goes somewhere else.

I agree with this sentiment. In fact I really don't think an EVP is necessary, selecting a good/elite GM IS. I think Khan needs to find (pay for) the best GM selection committee he possibly can. Were it me, I would try to hire on someone like Mike Shanahan to lead that committee. You need someone with some insider contacts to select a GM that can control a savvy scouting crew, has a clear vision on what type of football team he wants to build, can wheel and deal effectively in the draft and FA, and doesn't let his ego get in the way of working side-by-side with his head coach.
