A big stack of draft picks in exchange for the number one quarterback.
I agree. I wanted to trade down a spot or two, still get Travis Hunter and get another valuable draft pick or two in exchange. We're now picking #5. By getting to say we are 3-14 instead of 2-15, we both get a less talented player to build around and lose draft picks. Today was not a good day for Jaguar fans.

If we were #1 and the Raiders and Giants at #2 and #3 they aren't going to give up a stack of draft picks to move up one or two spots, especially when they know we wouldn't be going QB. Plus that's dependent on both teams falling in love with the same player and seeing no alternative.
I remember we had the same discussions when we got the #1 pick we took Walker with and while none of us know what offers, if any, we're made, I'm sure if there was a stack of picks we would have taken them.

Hopium is a hell of a drug!
Lol!! Love that the chaos of a Jags W has turned the chaos up to 11!!
The 2022 Draft (the Travon Walker draft) was an extremely unusual draft where the first quarterback wasn't taken until #20. As such, there was little trade value. However, that's an outlier. With the exception of Walker, a quarterback has gone #1 overall in seven straight drafts. In most years, a team will pay dearly to trade into the #1 spot.
The Jaguars not needing a quarterback also means very little in terms of hurting trade value because the Jaguars can trade the pick. The Giants will want to trade up to get ahead of the Raiders. The Raiders would want to trade up in order to ensure the Jaguars don't trade with the Giants. The Jaguars could also trade to a team in the #4 or lower spot and the Raiders/Giants know it.
Caring about 2 or 3 wins is like caring about whether you get a 22 or 23 in blackjack. Either way, you are going home a loser.

This ^^
I've seen the Detroit Lions comparison with the Jaguars, the one thing they did was trading their QB, get a few high picks (2 firsts and a 3rd), and a pretty decent QB in Goff (a #1 overall selection.) Adding that much talent (assuming you can hit) injects cheap talent into your team. If the Jags could have turned the #1 overall into 2-3 elite players that would have bolstered the roster on the cheap.

Facts. When you win, you feel a lot better. Go jags!
Too bad the end of the jags schedule was not the beginning. It would, have been nice to play the soft part of the schedule to start the season and gain some momentum before the difficult part. Oh well

I was kind of meh about the win until listening to Hacker on 1010. He likes to listen to the other team's radio the Monday after a game. According to him the Jag win just totally broke the Titans radio guys. Decimated them beyond belief. How could their beloved Titans lose to the worst team in the league Jags. Appears their first year coach may be on a hot seat ... LOL I feel better now.

Yea, Lloyd took a bit to get in a groove his first year. He came on as that season progressed. This year with the new scheme the same occurred. There has to be a defect in how they train these guys. Otherwise we would not have coaches saying how good practices were and it not showing on the field.

This fan base is going to melt when the team finishes 7-10 on a 5 game win streak, keeps everyone, and ends up picking 17th. 25 wins, a division title. and a playoff win over three season is a tremendous step up for our poverty franchise.
"But we could'a been losers!!!!!!"
Lol.

I would be all in on keeping Doug if it could be determined what is hobbling him. Is it Trent? Is he having personal problems? Doug has shown he’s capable of getting this team to win, so what’s the problem now?
This is where Khan falls short as an owner, IMO. Is he talking with Doug personally to get a read on him, or is he strictly adhering to the chain of command by keeping Baalke in the loop?
I don’t know. The plummet this team took in the middle of last season is very odd and seems attributable to a singular reason.
