Ladies and Gentlemen, it's that time once again! Time for the NFL Toilet Bowl Game of the Week!
Today the dismal jets of New Jersey travel to The Bank where they will take on the Prowler-jersey clad Jaguars of Jacksonville.
Both teams enter today's game at 3-10, the dreams of a lost season prominent in the minds of both fanbases. For the jets, the return of A-A-Ron was supposed to bring them to the top tier of the AFC, but an early season breakdown, the firing of the team's senior leaders, and lackluster play (but stellar blame casting) from Rodgers leaves them in disarray.
The Home Town Heroes are also bad, having lost many players this season including stalwart Tight End Evan Engram just this week. Mac Jones brings his feisty but undertalented game to the QB spot again today off a rare win last week over the also putrid tittians. Not much hope remains for this franchise this year, as the fans wait, hope, and pray for a shake up on Black Monday.
The game will be shown locally on Fox with kickoff slated for 1pm. Board instability is currently slated for 1:14pm, we'll have to see how that goes this week.
Hold on to your hats everyone; thought, commentary, arguments, insults, and so much snark to follow throughout the day.
My only motivation for going to the game is because I spent money on the tickets so I might as well use them.
1pm? The thread posting was so late, I assumed it was a 4pm game.

Only 2 things matter today:
1. BTJ stays healthy
2. BTJ gets the rookie yards and TD record

I'm torn on BTJ. On the one hand I want him to build his skills and resume for what's left of the season. On the other hand, I want him on the bench so he doesn't suffer some stupid injury for nothing.
Should be a decent game I feel. While I am betting that the Jets win with the -4.5 spread. I am still getting a sense that this team can win this game today. Wouldn't surprise me if it's a bit of a slug fest and low scoring affair with us winning by 3 - 6 points late in the 4th.

My check was short last week, so I'm acting out in little ways.
That and it was a late night at the ballet last evening, so I needed my beauty rest.
Let's freaking go Jags. Destroyed by injuries, not playing well and just coasting through the season. But dammit this is my team and I'm gonna be here as always.

It’s incredible to have a guy like this.
Great graph and those names are the top of the WR list in the league. Positive steps.
I see this as a pretty interesting game. Two teams that expected to be "in the Hunt" at this time of year squaring off with nothing but pride on the line.
It boils down to can we make Rodgers uncomfortable enough to not exploit our back end. That came out kind of weird but you guys understand. If we do not make Rodgers have to move and adjust he will take the opportunity to pick us apart and it will be a long day.
On offense the Jags will need a bit of a running game. If the Jets make us one dimensional we will once again have to lean on a QB being pressured at inopportune times.
Finally neither team appears to play well in the 4th quarter. Whoever sucks it up will win.
Jags offense has been ineffective since the first Q of Vikings game. I'm predicting a lot of 3 and outs.
Not expecting much with Macaroni. Can we get anything from DT? I’ll take anything.
Fun Fact: Hamilton hasn’t registered a sack in almost 2 years. His last sack came against the Jets back in 2022 when the Jaguars beat the Jets 19-3. My guy hasn’t even registered a half sack.
Shad Khan first game in attendance this year...
Seen talking with Woody Johnson (who are starting GM interviews this week)
Mac Jones is going to carve then up.
I want to see 12 targets to bjt today

He has been on his new boat. I can imagine what Baalke has been telling him
Stadium looks empty lol... Hope Shad is happy.
This feels like less than a preseason game.

Khan and Baalke are discussing the HC candidates for next year.
I wonder if they will try to re-sign Mac too or if he will get a better contract elsewhere?
I expect Mac to be the better QB today.

The only thing that really matters is how many hospitaly seats he sells. There's profit sharing on the normal seats so Jerry and the others are paying Shad.

The Jets have hired some famous consulting firm to help them find a new GM and head coach. Let's hope that's what Shad Khan is talking to Woody Johnson about.
