It's not so much that it "bothers" me (I really could care less actually) but the other rules are justified as this being a "family oriented" message board. No profanity or "veiled profanity" is allowed, but the open use of an illegal substance is freely allowed to be talked about. It's a double standard for some people.
The same goes for the "innuendos" that get thrown around regarding sex. Is it appropriate to be discussing that on a "family friendly" message board?
I do realize that there has to be limitations, but when one deems that certain language or topics are "inappropriate" for a "family message board" I think several factors need to be considered. Look at the irony. Somebody gets warned for "veiled profanity" yet sexual innuendos and talk of using illegal substances is allowed.

I think the profanity rule is a little silly.
I adhere to it because I have to.. and because I love this board.. but I don't agree with that side of it.
If the issue is that kids are gonna see the profanity written down, perhaps they shouldn't be allowed to go to football games altogether? They'll hear worse there than they'll see on here...
But hey ho...it's just my opinion..

Hey yeah I get that... like I say, I adhere to the rules... or at least I think I do..
But, I don't necessarily understand them entirely.. s'all good.
I've read this board for years before I made an account. I know how soft this board is and I've read threads in the past were a couple mods/admins discuss using illegal drugs and I must say that left me feeling confused about the "family" aspect of this MB. Whether it's against CoC or not it just seems a bit wrong to openly discuss that considering the objective of having a family site. I haven't read the CoC in a while, maybe it does cover encouraging illegal activity or something. TBH, I don't really care. But that's my thoughts.
Now, having said that, how do you ban that kind of talk, yet still have discussions that pertain to illegal drugs. Maybe it's a political discussion or a player getting arrested or whatever? I think the rules are fairly decent but it's got it's flaws. Come on, you can't even say Dick Lebeau or dick Cheney.
People on this message board come from all over the world, so what's illegal in one area isn't necessarily illegal in another.
