You really need to get over this. He carefully weighed and made the decision to agree with his coach and skip the game. It's a decision looking at what's best for his future, and I'm not knocking him for it one bit. You have to let it go.

But what right do you have to tell me what I should do if not again coc?    You don't have that right.  That is how I feel.  And your feelings are not needed and should not determine your job.

I don't have to let anything go. It is within a topic concerning a player.  Not against the rules. Learn the difference from being a moderator and trying to come off as a bully.   I never said this as a sports moderator to anyone period.   Cause was not my place too.
when are we going to ban this guy for dismantling every thread hes apart of
Back to topic at hand.  Me any my buddy are talking.  And he says LSU oline is pretty good. So made holes for Fournette and helped him be the beast people are talking about.  We do not currently have a line built for a Power Running Back.   So could ultimately fail

behind ours.

He also pointed out in big games Fournette got shut down.  Sides against Tennessee who does not have a good dl.

Quote:Ya know though. When ya play on any good team. Team first is the mentality. Does not matter if injured if not severe. And does not matter a draft slot. The fact he skipped his most important game. To come out on top as a team player. Speaks volumes in my eyes. To many it is not a big deal. To me and the way I was raised. It is a major one.

If I have someone moving on that is fine and dandy. But still has to put on the best show for last one.
So the top 2 RB in the draft are off the board?
So my issue with Fournette at 4 is not a talent issue. With the state of our line, I don't think he will reach his full potential and the shelf life for an NFL running back is very short these days. I don't think we are equipped yet along the OLine for a running back just yet. Don't be fooled by Zeke Elliott's success. He had the perfect situation. Would anyone be opposed to Mixon in the 2nd or 3rd

Heck yeah I'm opposed to Mixon in the 2nd or 3rd. I'm opposed to Mixon in the 4th. He fractured a girls jaw in eight places by punching her in the face, and it's all on tape to be shown on TV over and over again to distract whatever team drafts him.

I understand that the OL is not the best right now, but at the same time I see it slowly getting fixed. Remember our HC is an old school OL Coach, and Coughlin is intent on providing the very type of power run game that Fournette should thrive in. In other words, the current state of our OL is not necessarily the OL we're going to field over the next couple years.

And AD whipped his 40 lb child so badly that a week later there were still multiple ugly wounds from being beaten with a switch. Yet guess what hasn't come up a single time in this FA period, or for like the last 2 years for that matter?

If Mixon plays well and keeps himself in line going forward this will be all but forgotten before his rookie season is over.

Where is the video clip of AD whipping his boy?

Is there such a difference between video and pictures? I think we can all imagine what a video of a mammoth AD repeatedly whipping his defenseless child with a weapon so badly that it would leave all those marks a week later. As I said in the other thread I'm only playing devils advocate and I'm definitely not defending either one, but at least Mixon's was a split second reaction to her physical instigation and then he ran. ADs was not instigated and it was repeated. That would have looked worse, and yet it's all but forgotten.

"...with a weapon so badly..." Come on. He was spanking his boy with a switch... but he accidentally let it reach too far and the tip of the switch wrapped around. It was unfortunate and frowned upon, but it wasn't the same thing at all.

With Mixon we're talking about a strong football player accustomed to getting hit often, and when some little girl tries to smack him, he opts to knock her out and bust open her face with vicious punch.

There is no defending what Mixon did.

There's no defending what either one did. That was my point.

Both are essentially currently potential prize acquisitions for a team right now, yet only one of them is getting any attention about their respective assault on a defenseless human being. As time quickly healed the AD backlash it will do so with Mixon as well. In today's fast paced outrage culture there is no time to dwell on any single incident. The masses will move on quickly to the new flavor of the month item.

Battery is battery. No one can defend what either did and for video makes no difference at all.
With the focus on violence over the past couple years and with this incident readily available to watch on Youtube, I can see this incident sticking around for a while. Besides, it says a ton about his character. What he punches another player in the locker room?

Adrian's incident wasn't really battery. It was an accident resulting from punishing his child. Mixon's was straight out battery on a girl, and yes having readily available tape of the incident makes a huge difference.

I agree it says a lot about his character. Probably a fine or suspension like every time it happens normally.

I guess that's where video helps rather than just ugly aftermath damage pictures. Peterson can just say it was an accident and everyone will shrug it off in a matter of weeks whether that's true or not.
accident

peterson accidentally decided the use of significant force on a 4 year old was a good idea

so he accidently hit his kid with a [BLEEP] stick

and he accidentally did it too hard

these things are all accidental occurrences
I think most teams are going to stay away from Mixon early in the draft. Maybe a team like Cincy takes him round 2.
