So in this situation I assumed and was wrong.
But to make it like I am the only one who assumes stuff and is wrong and takes shots. Is equally as wrong.
Not one person on the board that did not make a mistake.
And to clump everyones situation as one unfortunate acccident is equally wrong and biased.
Football is a team sport. And when ya dont play important games. Ya let ya team down. Period.
To say if fournette played the game he have nerve damage and wouldnt be the same really?
What happened if Jaylon didnt get injured was drafted in first round.
Than suffors nerve damage in nfl? Does that make it better? Absolutely not.
So no this point comparing one guy to another is pointless to feed a hidden agenda to excuse a guy who gave up on his team.
Yeah it would make it better. Smith would be millions of dollars richer, had a chance to prove himself in the NFL before a near career ending injury, and regardless of the prognosis he would have forever had the designation of a top ten pick. Not even to mention the sponsorship deals he would have picked up as well.
You're silly to keep trying to justify your argument. You just admitted that you really have no idea what you're talking about. Stop digging your hole deeper.

Here's your biggest problem. Bowl games mean absolutely nothing. Quick... who won the Meineke Car Care Bowl? No one cares. Unless you are in the college football playoff, your bowl game means nothing. Yea its a chance to play one more game with your friends but athletes are smarter now and they understand in the grand scheme of things, it means nothing.
I'm sure that if LSU had been in the playoff, Fournette would have played. Same with McCaffery. If the Jags select Fournette and they make the playoffs, you can be assured Fournette will play.
Quote:Here's your biggest problem.
Everyone has attempted to explain that. Even Oehser set him straight on it. He's clinging to a very poorly formed opinion and refuses to believe reality.
Although I think the biggest problems are being too lazy to spell out the word "your " and being completely dumfounded by punctuating with periods.
But I digress.
The bowl game is pointless in the grand scheme of where you select Fournette in the draft and it's not necessarily any indication of his competitiveness.

Bowl game: means nothing except money for the University.
NFL playoff game: possibility of winning a SB.
I'm honestly shocked for big name college athletes don't sit out more bowl games.

John replied cool what day? No wonder why people so mad. Cause I'm famous.

I think it'll start to become more and more frequent now that the ice has been broken.
No they won't. Being there for the team matters for players.

I think you are confusing people "being mad" with people thinking you simply don't get it.
Quote:CTJags from Connecticut:
With Tom Coughlin preaching about toughness and winning matters, wouldn't Leonard Fournette at No. 4 be a mere pipe-dream being he sat out his last bowl game? And what kind of mixed message would that bring to the locker room?
John: I have no idea if the Jaguars will draft Fournette No. 4 overall or not, and there are arguments both ways. But those arguments very much center around whether or not you believe Fournette is worthy of the selection and perhaps around whether or not you philosophically believe in selecting running back at No. 4. What they should not and most likely will not center around is Fournette’s toughness or whether he cares about winning. Fournette reportedly played through a bad ankle much of the season regular season last season, then made a decision to not play in LSU’s bowl game. And you know what? There was absolutely nothing wrong with Fournette making that decision. LSU was not playing for a national title, so in that sense the bowl game was very much a recruiting tool and for show. Fournette probably could have skipped his entire final season and still been a Top 10 selection; in fact, an argument can be made that playing on the bad ankle might have hurt his draft stock a bit. He chose to play last season at the risk of his draft status. So, he made a decision not to play in the bowl game in order to avoid injury and ensure his financial future and that of his family? I think most players in the Jaguars’ locker room would either make the same decision or at the very least absolutely understand why Fournette made the one he made. There would be no message sent with the selection except that the Jaguars believed Fournette was the best option at No. 4 – and that they think he would have a chance to be a dominant player. Anything else would just be so much outside noise.

Really? Not the millions of dollars that they all want to make in the NFL doesn't matter?
They want the money. It's plain and simple. Money is king and these college kids want to earn as much of it as possible. Jaylon Smith regrets playing in the bowl game. It's why they take out insurance policies.

this is true. Not something I agree with. But I can see where some are coming from.

Technically I no longer live in ct. But I was seeing if he answer. And I just read it. Back on april 1st and first question. That was cool. I can see what John was saying. I still don't agree with it.
But only because I was on a team and big games are important to the team. I don't see it as a show per say. College fans have the same right to watch players they love preform in big games as Nfl do.
I understand what he did. But I don't agree with it. Maybe cause I am a man of principle and not money. To me that is still finishing the contract out. And being with the team. But If we do draft Fournette like every player. I will wish him well and success. Just like I hope Bortles turns it around.
Fournette was impressive in his interview and willing to give the benefit of the doubt. However, There are better options at four. And still is just a big guy with not much else. And we need to find a fullback with great blocking ability and vision like he had at LSU. For Fournette to be effective.
If we draft him. If we don't. I do not care how his career goes. Cause he is not a Jag. And I don't have time to watch other teams players.
