Quote:There is no logic to that idea. I think players should have to earn #28.What does that even mean? This is not college football.

I could see Peyton Thompson being cut and him being #25

The Jacksonville Jaguars Draft Class of 2016
Jersey Numbers
#38 Outside CB Jalen Ramsey
#44 SOLB Myles Jack
#91 LEO Yannick Ngakoue
#61 DT Sheldon Day
#49 SOLB Tyrone Holmes
#9 QB Brandon Allen
#66 PS Jonathan Woodard
I've read a few different threads discussing their jersey numbers, and honestly I don't understand why people care what number they are. I mean sure you want to know before the game so you can follow them on the field if you are sitting up high or something (I mean their names are on the back), but it is like some people get so concerned with their Jersey number... and i don't get it.
WHY?

Fans want their favorite players to look good, and part of that deals with having a "good number."
Perhaps we have all been conditioned by years of watching football and having numerical designations by position and it skews the perspective, but let's face it, would Deion Sanders look as good taking one to the house wearing #73 as he did wearing 21?
No.
Some numbers are just more visually appealing than others.

Dew, we want players to like their numbers. Jalen Ramsey wants a number that is already taken. Why shouldn't we care who wears #23?
As for names on the back, you might want to look at some player portraits. Some of our guys have long dreadlocks.

I like some number, i don't like other numbers. As a person who would potentially buy a jersey I'm very interested in the numbers. Also i like Jalen he wants 23 and its cool and id rather him have it than sample. On the field the number is about half of how i identify players.

Also, after a game is over, it is often easier to remember the number than the name of who was involved in a certain play. So I need to know who wears what before kickoff.

Always will go back to Mr. October, Reggie Jackson, the straw that stirs the drink, on that one.
Or...you know, Hank Aaron.
Those type of fellas.

Says the poster whose avatar is a #56 jersey.

It's a Fowler jersey. I imagine the number on it is irrelevant for flgatorsandjags and choosing it to be his avatar.

Welp..... here is to hoping Jack goes 43 although i think he may keep 44 and that sample will sell his number to Ramsey. Sample needs a tougher looking number anyways like 33

The part in bold was funny...
Jalen mentioned that he doesn't want his Jersey to remain #38 but it probably will stay that for the Month of May at least...

Ivory wears 33. Sample should just go back to #36.
