Quote:Uhhhh he excels at coverage. He's the best coverage LBer to come out since Keuchly. You should try watching Jack sometime.
Keuchly was literally twice as productive as a tackler and was only the 9th pick.

Sorry, but I don't see using the 5th pick on a guy whose play on the field at the position he is being drafted was only good enough to earn him 2nd team All Pac-12.

I would want a little more actual production and a little less hype at that pick.
Quote:I still think Bosa is #1 in our board, especially with us losing out on a pass rusher. I still wouldn't rule out Ramsey if he's there, but the signing of Gipson certainly tips the scales a little more towards Jack now. Jack is intriguing for what he can do, but his tackle numbers is somewhat concerning. You have to really sort it out if those numbers are like that because he backed off so much into coverage or if that's just his nature.

From watching him, he has some really bad run-fits and highly questionable instincts. He's golden in coverage, if not a wee bit grabby, but I just don't see him playing ILB in the pros with how terribly inconsistent he is against the run and as a rusher.

Jack is twice the player in pass coverage as Kuechly was when he was coming out .  Jack is just as good or better as a prospect

Tackling  is the number one skill for a LB. If you want someone whose best skill is coverage you get a DB.

He tackles just fine, what are you talking about?

So you must consider Poz an elite LB, eh?
Quote:I'm starting to get that feeling too. Him and Ramsey are just so versatile.
I feel like one or the other will be available at #5. It all depends on where Bosa gets selected.
First off let me say that Jack is my number 1 pick for us (assuming his knee checks out ok)

However. Given how expensive edge rushers are now to aquire, and our lack of success in getting Vernon, would it not make more sense to want Bosa to fall to us.

In any event, one of Jack, Bosa, Ramsey (or VH3 if they're all shockingly gone) is going to help us tremendously. I think that we'll just draft who's still on the board out of those.

I highly doubt Ramsey is still available when we pick, I think Ramsey, Bosa and Tunsil are 3 of the first 4 guys to go, though I think Buckner has a sneaky chance of going really early.

I'd be more than happy with Myles Jack. Poz has been a good player for us but Jack has so much potential and Poz is old now. It's a great time to upgrade the spot and keep Poz around as depth as no doubt one of our LB's will get injured at some point.

it's looking more likely

Im thinking its looking more like Bosa is the pick

I don't think Bosa makes it past Dallas, and even if he did, I don't think he fits as a LEO

Yep, that's my concern. Drifts too side-ways to sideways too much. But, there are instances when he attacked and when he did, he looked effective. So you have to really sort it out. We're not privy to the conversations to talk to him about what he's seeing, what his role was, etc. Maybe they wanted to use him that way, who knows.

But the cover skills are elite for a LB, no doubt.
Very true. It's just weird to watch someone being pimped as "elite" look as bad as he did on occasion when he's not in coverage. Some of it could probably be explained as gap responsibilities and some of it looks more like he doesn't seem to know what he's doing when he gets up-field.

He's a very talented kid, but he has some question marks that people don't really seem to want to ask. /shrugs

I think he and his knee will be alright https://Instagram.com/p/BA-WiqHDfOm/

Yeah she's definitely a beautiful woman and a great surprise that she was the girl from the cover. In my opinion, I'd put her pure beauty over Lindsay Duke (Bortles' ex)
The amount of ways this team could use Jack is ridiculous. He could play OTTO, MLB, SS, CB, RB, HB, and even KR.

Assuming he is healthy, how insane would it be to have a 245lb LB returning kicks? It seems no matter where you line him up he makes plays. Reminds me so much of MJD's rookie season here, you just knew something great was going to happen when he was around the ball.
Ill take Jack.
Path To The Draft just highlighted Myles Jack on today's show.  Bucky Brooks and Daniel Jeremiah, respectable ex-scouts, both agreed that he is a "rare elite and impact player".  He would not be a bad choice if he's taken by Dave.

I remember when Brian Urlacher was being talked about before his draft.  He was this kid out of New Mexico that could play multiple positions and even return punts.  It did not turn out too bad for the Bears.
