I'll cast my vote tomorrow in the primary, and it may or may not make a difference.  Unlike Trump/Sanders voters, I'll actually have to take time off of WORK in order to do so.

Thank you for the prejudicial insult.  It means a lot.

Why are you stereotyping Trump voters as non-workers? If you have been following the media at all, Trump voters are the ones most likely to be working, considering the majority of his support is blue-collar workers. Do you think before you post?

Better question...

I'm loving all the in-fighting. So deserved.
Quote:It worked great for Russia and all of the other socialist countries.

Oh, wait..... Maybe it didn't. But it will work this time, right?

The government cannot give anyone a single thing that it hasn't taken from someone who has earned it. What a cool plan......

It happens every day. The plan has always been here. The middle class did in fact grow when taxes where much higher.
Just to be clear, when people state socialism doesn't work what are you referring to? There are many countries in Europe doing just fine and have better health care and educational system than the US. Are we saying more socialist? Most are going to be a mix between socialism and capitalism. We already have socialism here in our country so are those who oppose socialism saying we need to get rid of public education, welfare, medicare and social security?

that's true there are many countries doing fine.  there are many that aren't.  making our country MORE socialist is not a good idea. simply put, our country was not BUILT on socialist ideas and policies.  at the same time, if the day comes when enough people want wealth redistribution and more "free" stuff, then so be it.

You guys get that vote so I don't know what you are referring to. Anyways, this old school homespun wisdom is pretty cute coming from someone who grew up on He-Man cartoons. Now go vote for Trump like you mean it.

Socialist immigration policies and anti-crime efforts have failed Sweden. It is so bad women are being told by police it is too dangerous for them to go out at night.

Also, we spend more-per-pupil on public education than any Scandinavian country, but our students have some of the worst educational scores compared to other first-world nations. Socialized education in the US has failed to keep us competitive.

Of course I think before I post... I knew it would get you Trumpistas riled up.   Wink

I was more of a Danger Mouse kind of guy. And I don't have a dog in this fight, we have closed primaries here.

Yes especially at the federal level. Education and welfare can work as socialist programs but on smaller scales which is why it should be distributed and maintained at the state level. Medicare and social security should be abolished as they are not sustainable socialist programs at any level. What's the difference two programs (welfare and education) provide temporary assistance for a duration the other two (Medicare and social security) require more payers and less beneficiary's to support payments made for an unspecified duration.
Bernie getting destroyed by the one who shall not be named

And the US such a safe place at night eh?

Europe has a problem with immigration, but that doesn't mean lessons can't be learned in health, education etc
After today it couldn't be more clear that Bernie Sanders has no chance of being the Democrat candidate in this year's election.

He simply doesn't have the delegates (especially super) to win the nomination.

He did force Hilary to go far to the left to win, and exposed her socialist ways in the process.

Or realize that Capitalism doesn't have all the answers. If it did than we wouldn't be where we are. The middle class has been stagnant for 40 years or so. Taxes have also been their lowest during that stretch than anytime in the 1900's. When taxes on the rich were 90% levels we saw the middle class increase year after year and the economy and stock market were doing very well (1950's and 60's).

It is hard to have real conversations when both sides want to position themselves on talking points their parties constantly deliver. The stats are there and they are pretty for the middle class in the current tax state we are in. We have over a century of data to look back on.
