Cruz just hit my opposition to Trump on the head, he just wants "smarter" people in government, I want less government.

Quote:Teflon Trump. They are trying to attack. Not working.
He took on the POPE and it didn't really hurt him, he's invincible.

He's the rights version of Obama, people can paint him into supporting any issue they want in the way they want because he's all over every issue on both sides. I honestly can't tell you anything he really will do if he's elected he's a total wildcard, that terrifies me.

He will get Mexicans to build a wall...maybe...
Was currency manipulation even a topic before Trump entered?

Mexicans aren't building it. They are paying for it over time with the trade deficit.
Explain further...?

Or is this another one liner?

Trump brought a lot of issues that were "forbidden" to be discussed to the forefront. I give him credit for that.

The problem is that Trump is more Democrat than Republican.

I agree in that you don't know will he revert back to being a Democrat (but officially he was only one during George Bush Jr.'s administration, and it does seem like he has some weird problem with that family).

If you go back to O'Reilly's interview with Donald Trump in 2011, his views really weren't different than they are today.  He felt that troops should be taken out of countries around the world that we spend billions of dollars defending for nothing in return, but hatred from the countries we are defending (Isolationism, with the exception that he will support Israel 100%).  He felt with the troops brought back they can finally support the border, and stop the influx of criminals which bring drugs, weapons and diseases into our country year after year.  He felt that our healthcare system under Obamacare is horrible, but he wanted to replace it with something better & more effective.  He refuses to touch Social Security, (remember you have to get elected in a general election & the Democrats are promising to actually increase it while a lot of Republicans want to remove it & in polls people including myself want Social Security to remain)!

I can understand wanting to go with Ted Cruz whom has similar views (some he adopted from Trump after seeing his popularity on certain issues like Immigration & the wall, but I don't think Ted Cruz will win in a general election.

Hilary Clinton will be far dirtier than Donald Trump ever was in a debate accusing Ted Cruz of being worse than Richard Nixon with his scandals & poor ethics during the primaries & a sexist for his Texas views on Abortion, and a racist (because the Democrats always call Republicans racist & sexist because it always works for them so why stop doing it).  She will say that Ted's immigration views are cruel & racist which she would do to Trump but Trump has a way of spinning things that Ted simply cant do...

They call that a Moderate, which Ronald Reagan was and won HUGE with blue collar democrats which have shown up in these Primaries in the first time since Ronald Reagan (whom Ted Cruz keeps trying to frame himself as being but people really see his awkward ways/mannerisms/facial expressions and lies/manipulator to be like Richard Nixon.

I can certainly understand the concern of trusting Donald Trump to be a true conservative (its a fair argument) but do you want a far right conservative that will lose in a general election or a moderate Republican that wants to win a reelection in four years again with the Republican Party?

Look he says things in a vague manner that have people thinking oh the Mexican government is just going to hand him a check for the wall...

its not what he means...

We actually give the Mexican Government money (to fight the Drug Cartel, which is a joke because they do really nothing about it).  Under Bill Clinton he made trade deals and exported tons of jobs to Mexico, which Donald Trump will take back thus Mexico will pay for this wall ... just not in the conventional way you might be thinking...
So not paying for the wall at all...

Just reducing a form of aid, the knock on effect may be more people taking drugs in the US?
Lying Ted earning his nickname tonight...

How do you figure the drugs will get across the border with the U.S. Military defending it under Donald Trump's administration?

Other than corruption, or people growing it within the USA (but hey at least its being built in the US right)?

Teflon Trump makes it through another debate unscathed.
Well if the US military are going to defend it so well surely they don't need a wall at all?

More money going out of your pay for military in taxes eh?
On a very sincere note;

I have a friend, Jen, whom I hadn't talked to since a year after High School (since I went into the Navy and didn't keep in touch) whom I reunited with on Facebook recently.  She had told me that she was a few months clean off of Heroin.

I was utterly shocked (39 year old woman with children, single mom).  The drugs coming over the border from Mexico and other places are literally killing our youth.  You only need to open a newspaper or search the web to find young children dying of Heroin overdoes to see how truly bad this situation has become in our country.  If building a wall and putting troops on the border can at least reduce it, we have an obligation to do it!

Good debate tonight. More details on policies..

No extra money is needed, he'll simply remove the troops from Japan, Germany, Korea no longer spending money there (saving billions) and place them on our border.

Sure you don't really need a wall with the military but it helps slow down the illegals attempting to cross the border.

Trump is not a "moderate." He's running as an extreme populist. I see him as a sociopath, i.e. anything he can get away with is acceptable if it's to his benefit. He's another Hillary Clinton without the baggage.

And Reagan was never called a moderate. Not even close. Bush 41 was the moderate in the 1980 Republican primaries, and Republican Anderson ran as a 3rd party moderate candidate to opposed Reagan, who was frequently called a right wing extremist by the opposition, including Bush 41 and Anderson, as well as Carter and the mainstream media (which even then was pretty far left, and was the only media around in those days).
