I know, right? It's like these idiots still don't understand how important the 3rd string RB is in today's game.
Quote:No where in this quote am I seeing a reason to get my panties in a bunch but that's just me. Maybe I need to stick to wearing thongs instead.

But, but, but, but SLOWBY!  And sprinkles!

Nevermind that he played through a hernia last year and only saw 20 rushing attempts anyway.  If he's somehow able to make the roster, I'll be rooting  for him just to see all of these whiners lose it.
Gerhart probably shouldn't be on the team next season, but some of you are overreacting. He's not the problem in terms of what we are trying to build here. At least Dave went out and said they will be defense heavy in FA and the draft. I can't wait to see a new defense out there.
Quote:Dude! Have you not been paying attention! You must eliminate all patience and completely throw away the long-term view! Scorched earth policy! It's what Winners do!

I'm just pleased I have something new to be upset about.

And they're going to re-sign Lewis. I'm going to start writing stuff down now so I'm ready.
Quote:Thanks for this thread.

Of course. It's the easiest way to get to 16k+ posts. Ninja

Somewhere in southern NJ a lonely man is on a tirade laden with profanity and the word "giraffe."
Quote:Dude. Can't you read?

Assuming they add one running back via FA or the draft that will give us a backfield of:

Yeldon

DRob

Gray

Grant

FA/Draft pick

Gerhart

Do you expect them to start the season with 6 RBs on the roster?

Did u see where he said there's a good chance he returns next season

Sure. "Next season" starts in a couple of weeks. He'll be on the roster come training camp. That doesn't mean he'll make the final cuts.

Lol, now we are using his hernia for his terrible disgusting play.

I know.

It's so stupid to imagine that severe pain and limited mobility of the groin and lower abdominals would affect a running back's performance.
Quote:Well for starters they aren't re-signing him. He's still under contract. I assume he'll be looked at as an H-Back type of role going forward. Caldwell also mentioned that they will explore adding additional running backs via FA and draft and gave a nod to Jonas Gray and Corey Grant. The backfield will be loaded with competition come camp time and I find it hard to imagine they'll be able to keep everyone. Why not bring him to camp to give him one last shot? Who does it hurt?

Saying he'll be back in 2016 seems to imply to me that he'll be back on the team for the 2016 season, not just brought back in training camp.  Especially since Dave also said there's a role for him on the team.  Maybe I'm wrong though.  Also for some reason thought he was going to be a free agent this season.

I'd like to see Lewis re-signed. Slowby is under contract so I don't see the point in cutting him until training camp.

His brief evaluation of Ramsey for me said he views him as a free safety who would fit into the system.

I love Dave, I have to say. I think he's done an excellent job with the influx of talent.

We'll considering his roll as a change of pace/3rd down back was completely diminished at the end of the season, I'm thinking they have plans for a FB/H-Back type of role for him moving forward. It's up to him to outperform expectations and beat out guys who may have an upper leg on him just based on lack of opportunity.

Screw this!

C'mon Bklyn, let's go root for the Giants!

So I'm assuming you disagree?

Yeah... ummm.... that's not ever going to happen.

Caldwell:

"DB is deeper than DE in this draft. Part of the reason we took Fowler early last year was looking ahead to this crop of pass rushers."

With what?

With this bit of cheer?:

Seems unlikely.
