I'm good with this.  More stability for Bortles the better

This could very well mean an Epic Stache in Bortles future...

<fingers crossed>

I have over the years bashed Henne and made juvenile remarks concerning his chinanus. Although I will more than likely continue that at some point given the right circumstance for now I am good with the signing. I do believe he has had some type of good influence on Bortles progression as a QB. He has proven to be quite the pro even if his skills are severely lacking.

Quote:It gets me how so many people think that Chad Henne is that bad. We never saw him perform behind a decent line and with a good supporting cast of players. We saw him at QB after the roster was gutted and we had mostly rookies on the offense. No decent line, an "average at best" running back and no "star" wide receivers.

The other thing to keep in mind is the fact that he is a BACKUP QB. He only plays if Blake Bortles is out with an injury.

Name one other VETERAN QB with his experience that is available via FA.

Henne is a terrible QB. Did you forget that he got booed off the field the last time he started a game?

His second $8m dollar contract pretty much confirms that you don't know what a terrible back up QB actually looks like.

By that logic, Peyton Manning is a terrible quarterback.  He got booed off of the field more than once this year at home.

Peyton Manning was being rather sucky when he was getting booed off the field this past year. He had nothing left in his arm, and this is why Osweiller took over. Fortunately for the Broncos, Peyton was able to heal up his arm a bit for their Playoff run.

I would trade Henne for a bag of Doritos.

Not saying Henne is very good,, but to be fair, he was playing with Hurns and ARob in only their 3rd game (AROB couldn't catch a cold at that point, he had severe dropsies). The line was worse (Joeckel wasn't even as good as he is now). And, who was the RB again? Gerhardt? I can't remember.

The offensive talent level now as compared to back then is night and day. I believe Henne would fair much better now than he did back then, but that's just my personal opinion. Of course I don't think he's good enough to be a full time starter. However, there aren't many backup QBS that are.

Most likely, the Jags will move on from Henne after this next 2 season stint is up.

Make sure it's a family-size bag tho.

How selfish of me. You're right.
