JMizzal, please stop....Alexander is listed at 5-11 195, and he looks every bit of it on the field. He's a thick corner

Don't know where you're getting 180 from. It's clear he's bigger than 180

Where do you see him falling in the draft?
I kinda' see him going in the middle/late part of the first round, which would make him a tough get for the Jags.
He's one of the few corners without "ideal" length that I still like as a prospect for the Jags. The only possible strike against him I perceive is if he played for the Jags he'd have a bit of a learning curve with zone concepts, but he seems smart enough to get that together quickly, IMO.
(I'm seeing 5'10" - 195 at most sites. But that stuff will be nailed down at the combine soon enough.)

@NYC4Jags.....I'm seeing him being mocked around the middle of the 1st, but we know how that goes.
Honestly, if he checks out physically ( I know he hurt his hamstrings in the Playoff ), I'd be inclined to take him at 5 because I think he's *clearly* the best corner prospect.
But to your point, yeah, Gus likes the longer corners, and Alexander doesn't fit the mold. But this guy has elite man to man cover skills, and he seems to be very strong, which means he would be able to press and jam at the line -- and Gus likes that.
I'd have no problem taking him and making him my "shadow" corner against the opposing teams best receiver.
CB - House
CB - Alexander
Nickel - Colvin
FS - ???
SS - Sample

Also, if he is falling, say down to the early 20s for some reason, I'd be fine with us jumping back into the 1st and snagging him.
That would mean we'd probably have taken Ramsey at 5, in which case
I'm working off of the assumption that 2016 is going to be the start of consistent playoff contendership(is this even a word?) for us, so I would have no issue giving up a 1st or a 2nd and another pick in the 17 draft in order to move back up in the 1st and take Alexander

A man can dream, right?

What I am seeing here is a shift away from Vernon Hargreaves. Before his stock dropped out of the top five, many posters wanted him. Now people are jumping on the Mackensie Alexander bandwagon. Are you changing your mind about a top 5 CB who would instantly boost our pass defense?

I still see Hargreaves as a top 5 player. Including Ramsey, Tunsil, Ragland, Robinson. He just had 2 recent bad games and now is falling out of favor.

Many people - including myself - see FS and DE as greater needs and better value at #5. Many also see Hargreaves as the third best DB in the draft and project him outside of the top ten picks.
There are interesting prospects for CB, FS, and DE right now projected throughout the first three rounds and lots of shake-ups coming after the combine. Not to mention free agency may see a signing at one or more of these positions by the Jags.
I wouldn't take stock in any "shifts" away from players this soon.

I think it is stupid to not want somebody anymore because he played two bad games. One of them was against Alabama, the eventual national champion.
What are some other reasons Vernon Hargreaves is no longer the most-liked draft prospect at his position?

I know FS is a bigger need than CB right now. At the time I posted we should draft Vernon Hargreaves I did not know Jalen Ramsey plays both positions. And in case you have not noticed, I am hoping Joey Bosa will drop to us.

If Vernon Hargreaves makes an unexpected drop, another team will trade up for him.
