You also have to account for the fact that historically, edge rushers don't make an immediate impact their rookie year (which is why, IMO, it was stupid to rely on Fowler last season). A lot of us who want Ramsey don't prioritize FS (though IMO, it's close). We just want the team to address the pass rush need with a veteran (and there's at least two veterans, JPP/Vernon maybe Mario) who can help this team if you're willing to take the risk.
Get a veteran rusher, add the absolute perfect fit at FS in Ramsey, and whatever you get from Fowler be it at OTTO or at LEO would just be icing on the cake in what is basically his rookie year (coming back from an injury nonetheless)
Quote:Sounds like this Seattle Defense mess ain't going to work.
I dont understand why Josh Evans cant play like Earl Thomas (3 years later) shaking my head as to why a HC wouldn't have a game plan based on the talent he has instead of what he wishes he had.
Earl Thomas was a 1st round pick, if you want an Earl Thomas draft one at pick 5 (Jalen I assume).
You build your team in the trenches. Don't really care about care about a free safety.
D line bad, oline bad = team no good = 2015 Jaguars
Quote:Eric Berry? Really? Seems unlikely Chiefs would let him leave.
Eric beat cancer & is still one of the best FS in the league.
While we're on the subject of Caldwell's press conference, is it just me or does the video on jaguars.com have no audio? I've tried it popped out, audio only, and on multiple browsers, but nothing.

I got audio. Sounded fine to me.
Quote:You nailed it. You can't count on Fowler helping at all (I wasn't sold on him before his injury, but I digress). We need a pass rush, and should not be putting all of our eggs in the Fowler egg basket. Drafting in the top 5 for anything else would be disappointing to the nth degree.
I don't get this line of logic. His knee is said to be stronger than before, and he's a legitimate talent. There's no reason to pretend he's not there.

Because he's a rookie pass rusher. Traditionally, most rookie DEs don't make immediate impact. You add the rehab with the injury and its even more reason to not rely on Fowler.
