I think that unless he gets another win, it won't matter what we want - he'll be gone.
You also have to wonder, after watching last weeks win whether that was a fluke or a taste of what this team could be capable in other hands..
Definitely was a fluke, Brees is going to massacre this D.
Quote:A little better execution on a few plays and the Jaguars are 9-5 or 10-4.
That is a bit misleading; ask yourself why are we coming up short consistently? Not because of lack of talent. Lack of accountability. Weak coaching. If a player has a fumbling issue on say the Patriots for a game, they're in the doghouse next game. Why? Not because Belichick is a sadist but because they're sending a message to improve. The players have no extra incentive to take their game a few inches more metaphorically speaking and prevent those errors. The coach says good try, hands out a gold star and makes no changes, no adjustments etc. the very definition of insanity is doing the same thing over again and expecting a different result. There is no indication whatsoever that the Jags will ascend rather than contract under Gus. None. Pull the trigger and fire him
Quote:Gus still blew a timeout call, and it cost us time after the two-minute warning. Just sayin'. Great coaches have figured out how to call timeouts by the end of their third season, ya know?
There was plenty of time, and it actually worked out better to still have a couple for their final drive.

I actually agree here.
Quote:How do you know what either man's "grasp of the game" is? How do you quantify that? Do you really think that DC, a man who clearly knows what he's doing, hired and is keeping someone who he believes has no "grasp of the game?"
These are honest questions.
When a defensive mastermind allows his defensive coordinator to run a scheme that is about as reliable as a Fiat 500, one might reasonably question his grasp of the game.
When that same head coach is almost three full seasons in and still doesn't understand how to use timeouts, one might reasonably question his grasp of the game.
When the man benches his best defensive back because reasons after demoting his best DB from last year, again, because reasons, to a part-time special teams role, one might question his grasp of the game.
Shall I continue?
NO!!! him and Dave...can hold hands...and jump in the atlantic....we need a new HC, OC and GM!!!

OC?
You mean DC?
Absolutely not !!! You have to look at any success we have had and really consider that we have played a very soft schedule. I do see lots of talent, but our success is not because of Gus
With the rebuild this coach has had to endure, I would give him another year. I would ask him to look strongly at a replacement for Babich though.
The team improved this year and we are in close games pretty much every week. I think he'll be back for at least 1 more season, whether we like it or not.
Quote:A new HC would disrupt everything.
Fire Babich, but keep the excitement alive.
Hahaha a new head coach might disrupt what? Losing? Lol don't be scared of firing a trash coach. He's holding this team back.
Quote:What excitement?
Really?? This is the first time in years the media has paid any kind of attention other than "when's the move?",or "when's the draft?". 6-10 and Ill be onboard for 1 more.

DC? Yes!!! OC?? Hell no!!!

Yes really. This team could be so much better than it has been.
No more Gus. No more flat play. No more soft zone coverage. No more bad timeout calls. No more. This fanbase and these young players deserve better.
Gus had THE perfect chance to show last week was not a fluke. That he and the team were turning the corner.
Nope. They failed.
It's time for a new leader of this team. We have the QB. We have the right owner and I firmly believe we have the right GM. Now it's time to find the right coaching.
Gus is a good motivation guy. But if you look beyond that for positive adjectives, it's hard to find any. I think he's earned a chance to retain his job next year but he should be on a very short leash. If the Jags are below .500 after 8 games, can him.
The team has shown enough for Gus to get another season, atleast in Caldwell's eyes. If he doesn't get that 6th win, he should be gone.
Nope...it was clear at the beginning of year 2 that he's not cut out to be an NFL HC. GREAT GUY, not a good HC.
