Quote:I prefer to call it realism. If he shows me something to prove that he can be that guy, sure I'll change my tune. I don't have high hopes for him. There's only so many balls that can go around. ARob and Hurns are clearly ahead of him. Julius is another guy who should command more looks next season as he develops chemistry with Blake. Before he got injured, Greene was already becoming a favorite of Blake for the underneath stuff.

Barring injuries with those guys (which I would not want to see), the opportunities for Lee to shine are pretty slim. He may end up turning it around, but I have a feeling if he does so, it won't be in Jax.
What a terrible thing to have to ponder.  A plethora of good talent at a skill position.  We should really hate this.

- he is a body catcher

He's already shown signs of fixing that as well as the ability to make a tough catch with his hands.  But, whatever.

We'll just agree to disagree, I suppose.

Also:  I'll take body catches like this one all day long.

That's not a body catch.  That's textbook on how you are supposed to catch an over-the-shoulder pass.  There are certainly better examples than this.

I thought it would be in a runaway Allen Robinson, but the locker room says Lee. Maybe Robinson is just more productive and that's okay because we got both
Lee or Nick Marshall would have been my picks

I think that was the point.

He's not a body catcher tho, lol Idk where that guy is getting that from, has he caught some with his body yes, but doesnt make him a body catcher, I have been following him since he was a freshman in college
Marqise Lee - 9 starts 511 yards 1 TD

Ace Sanders -4 starts 539 yards 1 TD

He's less effective than a 5'7 pothead

Yeah....  you are definitely missing my point.

(it was the closest thing to a body catch I remembered seeing from him in a game and - gulp -  it's not really a body catch. We are in agreement.)

 The topic is "athleticism."
Well...you're not going to exactly find highlight videos of drops lol

He has 7 catches on the season this year.  2 drops.  Don't mistake targets for drops.

You've seen 2 of the 7 catches were clearly with his hands. Here's another.  I really don't feel comfortable calling him a body-catcher after watching his catches from this season on rewind. I just don't see it.

His 17 yard catch vs the Titans - I also watched - and he had his hands out in front of his face mask on arrival of the pass on that one too.

Comparing Lee to Troy Williamson lol

Lee is a Biletnikof winner, Pac 12 OPY, 4th in Heisman voting and was touted as the best WR in college before an injury and bad QB play. The kid has the potential to be a superstar and he shows flashes of it. A slow start to his career does not make him a bust or bad wr.
Alualu is my pick. His versatility playing offense and defense is amazing and his ability to make tough catches is underrated.
Drob

He can play WR if he wanted. QB and RB. KR, PR.

He can do it all.

Of the WRs, Lee is.
Where do you think Telvin Smith should rank on this list?   After Denard Robinson,  Smith was the next player that came to mind.

I'm going to pin this on a couple of things.

1. Allen Robinson

2. Allen Hurns

3. Injuries

Not excusing him, just saying. He's an asset

At his position, probably #1 in the league. He is a LB in a Strong Safeties body.

Thomas is probably our 2nd most athletic player.
On the defensive side, Nick Marshall is up there as well.

By what criteria are we judging athleticism? Alualu is a pretty average guy from start to finish, both in terms of ability and athleticism. While Marshall's transition from QB to CB is impressive, he's not exactly fast out there. He's tall, lanky and quick. Some modicum of exceptional speed should be part of evaluating athleticism imo, and while guys like Telvin absolutely blow the doors off of other players their size and position, Marshall would be somewhere mid-pack at corner.

A-Rob easily.
