Quote:No, volume stats don't count for much in the modern NFL, literally every team has inflated stats because the game has turned to favor the offense in dramatic fashion. He is still on of the worst decision makers, very turnover prone, and the most inaccurate QB in the league. Inefficiency might allow you to put up pretty stats, but as the advanced metrics show, it doesn't amount to anything special or help you win games.

I wholly disagree mate, and find your take agenda driven and unintelligible. He is 23, the mistakes are an issue, but dwindling. Experience heals, potential wins.

It was a tale of two halves, he had a bad half and then came back had an amazing half. To say he had a bad game is simply not dealing in reality and shows an agenda. When you throw for 3 TDs and rush for another then you are doing something right. The eye test shows he is a franchise QB and now the stats are. He has shattered jaguar franchise records, o and btw those were records set by playoff teams and one that was one game short of the super bowl. Bortles is only a second year quarterback and putting up gaudy numbers. That pass to hurnes was perfectly placed between two defenders. Your agenda is clear but your eyes are clearly blind.
Not to go patting my own back...  But I'd like to point out the folloing since the Dolphins are playing today:

I said earlier in the season that BB5 was gonna be better than Tannehill.  This was during a discussion when a certain troll was saying that BB5 would be lucky to be as good as Tannehill.

Now look at where things are...  The Dolphins would sell thier souls for BB5, while I wouldn't give up Alualu for Tannehill!

My how this season has progressed!

Bloody well said Britjag.
Quote:Tote out the usual rhetoric and insults...you guys have become boring. It's like you guys don't even try to use rational thought or objective evidence. Enjoy the circle jerk.

OK, loser.  If we're boring then leave.  Take your stupid comments that have no basis in reality with you.

Other fans come and provide actual thoughts that are within the realms of football reality.  You're just a troll that plays the contrarian.  You are the Skip Bayless of The Jungle.  But at least ESPN's Skip Bayless has a few morons that still agree with him.

While you, The Jungle's Skippy, have completely jumped the shark.

Go way, Skippy...  Take that god aweful toupee with you.

Stats and metrics can be used to support any agenda by skewing the numbers in a favorable position to support your argument. Your a laughable excuse for a jag....wait Nah your just a troll with an agenda, shouldn't even call you a fan. Have to agree you sound butt hurt. Move along troll.

He's not a fan.  He's a flaming  :yucky: tack backer that trolls The Jungle.

Wow that's kinda pathetic.

Tell me about it.  I just checked another thread discussing our season, he he's trying to play it off like he's a Jaguar fan all of a sudden.  Go back and look at the early season threads when BB5's progress was still in question.  He made it crystal clear he's a tack fan who thinks MM is gonna be the better QB.  He's tripling down on that in this thread.  And trying to now pass himself off as a Jaguar fan.

It's pathetic.

Unintelligible? How hard is to understand that his completion % is worst in the nfl? I know you guys aren't the brightest but man.
Go home ESPN, you're drunk

As hard as it is for you to understand that his game is not dunk and dunk, 22/29 for a bunch of 6s and 8s.  He is vertical, 16/25 for 20s and 30s.  Popping the envious over the top.
dink and dunk...

Because you harp on that statistic as if it's the end all be all for quarterbacks. It's not. Bortles tends to throw the ball downfield more often which will skew that percentage
Look at the history of super bowl qbs, you don't win games on inefficiency. You win the game on ball control and high percentage plays. I get your British and the sport is probably new to you but that's football 101.
I'm British and been here over 10 years thanks...

Not sure why you are so upset we got a franchise QB? Or is it jealousy.

Now only 1 TD behind palmer and 3 behind Brady. Do you know what wins games? Scoring more points than the other team, we have fixed half of that.

It is new.  As new as to witness the first miraculous 96 playoffs, in year 2 of our proud franchise, while in college in Jacksonville.  And have lived in the country since, 19 years later, sans just 1 year of watching EVERY Jags game in franchise history, along with countless league matchups.

So you'd draft a new QB or perhaps get one in Free Agency, if it were up to you?  By the way, please don't answer that.  But knowing you...
I think if we are being honest we can agree that he looked pretty bad in the first half. The 2nd half was much better but he made a few bad reads and inaccurate throws. The team still dominated which is great.
Give me a QB that slings the ball over the field and gives your team a chance to win (Bortles, Favre) over a limp wristed game manager (Bridgewater, Pennington) any day.

One gives you a chance to win, and the other's chances are only as good as those players around him.

More baseless rhetoric. Are Brady Manning and Rodgers game managers? The bread and butter of their games are short high % throws and they're arguably in the top 5 qbs of all time.
