Quote:Whatever helps you sleep at night, continue you to duck your head in the sand and ignore all the facts. So the major football analytic sites all have an agenda against bortles right? Because they all confirm what I argue for using empirical data.

I don't know why you guys are so salty, I'm hoping the jags win the division.
Hahahahaha dude you are funny. The eye test is all you need and he passes that with flying colors. Go ahead and stick YOUR head in the sand and stand by statistics that support your ridiculous argument. As a qb you play to your strengths, we have two wide receivers that attack the ball in the air, Robinson being elite at it and burns with fantastic double moves. We just dominated the team leading our division, no embarrassed them, and you want to spit your garbage on these boards about how he's no good because his play hasn't supported your agenda. Then you want to insult posters for not agreeing with your ridiculous drivel. You're weak man, please go back to your tack boards, I'm sure they will agree with you about your man crush on the dink and dunker.
Just watched the Hurns play again, Hurns catches the ball a split second before the DB gets there. At full speed it looks like the DB over runs the interception. An absolute all world throw.

Quote:No, volume stats don't count for much in the modern NFL, literally every team has inflated stats because the game has turned to favor the offense in dramatic fashion. He is still on of the worst decision makers, very turnover prone, and the most inaccurate QB in the league. Inefficiency might allow you to put up pretty stats, but as the advanced metrics show, it doesn't amount to anything special or help you win games.
Inaccurate QB's don't put up over 3500 yards and 30 TD's in 13 games.

Be interesting to see his list of terrible qbs who have had over 30tds in season
To illustrate the ridiculousness that is QBR, take a look at the overall season ranks for QBR. http://espn.go.com/nfl/qbr

Among the myriad of ridiculous numbers, these few scream the loudest:

Cam Newton, overall QBR of 64.9 ranking him 11th overall (really? Pretty sure he's having an OK season.  His running apparently didn't help him in QBR, even though that was the whole reason to have the dumb stat.  He is behind the likes of Ryan Fitzpatrick, and Teddy Bridgewater for the running portion of QBR...wut?)

Brian Hoyer is only 1 point behind Cam Newton......nuff said.

Blake Bortles is less than 5 points ahead of the likes of Colin Kaepernick, Andrew Luck, and Peyton Manning....sure ok.

Matt Ryan is 9 points ahead of Blake Bortles.  Matt Ryan has been abysmal this year (65.9% Comp, 3705 yards, 7.22 yd/att, 17 TD, 14 INT, 10 Fum.  Bortles' numbers are (57.5%, 3524 yards, 7.03 yd/att, 30 TD, 13 INT, 8 FUM).  What this is saying is that Blake Bortles has 13 more TD's, 1 less INT, and 2 less Fumbles than Matt Ryan, but the additional 150 yards and 8% completion percentage trumps that?

Am I taking crazy pills.  I know I shouldn't let this get me upset, but seriously, what in the hockey sticks.

This is the Patriots vs. Bills Week 17 in 2008.

Matt Cassel had one of the best QBR performances of all time!  Must have done some awesome work through the air, right?  Wrong, 6/8 for 78 yards and 0 TD's.  Well, he had to have run for 150 yards and 3 TD's right?  Wrong, 3 rushes for 19 yards.

Can't make this up.
