Quote:Dude.... It's his 2nd season.

The reason people aren't concerned about his turnover is because..... He's 23 and in his 2nd season.

You don't think he is going to improve in that area next year? Did he improve from year 1 to year 2? Yup.

Probably going to improve again in year 3.
you're missing the whole point of the convo. Please go back and read it. But at least you're admitting that his INTs are problematic.
You're the guy who wants to fire Dave Caldwell, your argument is invalid.

Here, let me attempt to summarize this...

Turnovers are bad. It is bad when someone commits them. Whether they are interceptions or fumbles, it doesn't really matter; they are still bad.

It is worrisome when players do them, but due to the large volume of touches that long-term players see, turnovers will occur. This does not mean that they are less bad or that you do not constantly guard against them; however, it can be considered as a "cost of doing business" type of thing that is really unavoidable.

Also, young players who turn into successful, older players tend to cut down on the amount of bad plays they make and increase the number of good plays. There is hope that a QB who is in the Top Ten in TDs thrown, passing yardage and passing yardage per game will turn out to be one of those successful, older players.

31 total TDs... Roethlisberger injured.

You're a clown Smile

Who?!

Never once did I say that. I wanted to fire Gus Bradley. Nice try British

Of course they're problematic, but it's a part of his playing style right now and he's a still a young player that will continue to develop. That TD throw to Hurns could've easily gone the other way, but he still threaded the needle and it turned into a game-changing play.Either way, just enjoy the fact that he has thrown 10 TDs to 1 interception over the past 3 games and that he's continuing to improve on his decision-making.

From my perspective, I don't think the throw / TD to Hurns was all that close to being intercepted. The replay shows that the Safety is a step away when Hurns is tucking the ball in, you can fast forward to the 1:53 mark for the play, and if anything the Safety should have gone for the hit and not the ball. But that's Dwight Lowery for ya. I recognize that the bang-bang nature of the play makes it seem like Bortles got lucky with that one but I really feel like he dropped a dime on 'em and just isn't getting the benefit of the doubt.

Now, does that mean that Blake is always making good decisions? Nah. But I do like that he's willing to take a shot.

Blake isn't getting enough credit for threading the needle on that 80 yard TD

I agree. Lowery also over-ran the play toward the sideline.

Now, Adams (CB) may have had a chance to get a hand on it if he weren't asleep at the wheel,

but it would have been an a acrobatic pick at the least - had he looked for the ball.

Which he didn't.

The way I saw it, was that Lowery was in between hitting Hurns and trying for the INT and got stuck in between and did neither.  If he had done one or the other aggressively, I don't think the TD would have happened.  I'm not sure if there would have been an INT, but I don't think the TD happens.  Then again, I haven't seen the replay on TV.  I'm only speaking from my beer-clouded memories of watching the replay at the stadium.
Quote:I'm not a hater but I'm critical as hell for him being the 3rd overall pick and because he has the tools to be legendary. When he plays like trash I will call it. I don't feel the need to kiss the feet of players because they play here like people here do. He still does stare down receivers and throw the dumb ball a few times that can be picked.
Must be hard living in your world of 100% perfection. lol
Quote:I think Bortles is going to be a stud. I hate how he stares down receivers, and forces bad throws. I know thats youth, which he will grow from.
Exactly

I can't disagree. If he (Lowery - far right)  takes a more direct angle to Hurns, he probably breaks it up.  I think he over-ran it towards the sideline and couldn't make a tackle due to momentum.  Could have been attempting to prevent a collision with the CB, but the angle he takes ends up screwing him.

Here's the 22 view zoomed on the safety angle.

Did you look in your butt?

Can you find an All-22 from directly behind from either direction on the play? I'd like to know when Lowery decided to break on the route and how that syncs up with Bortles' release.
