- Using Bortles to buy time for extra information from his guys upstairs before throwing the challenge flag (Which turned out to be huge). This is a Belicheck type move. Major props for this.
- Proper time outs
- Mid-game adjustments. This is never perfect for any coach but its nice to see hes capable of it.
As a fangroup, We've shoveled crap on this guy. Lets keep it real and give the man props when its due. He's still got a long ways to go but this team is showing a pulse and a fire like I haven't seen in a decade.

Great game today.
However his overall track record is poop.
What a game today though. Bortles is the GOAT
Yeah it was a solid game, he still sucks tho...but he can have his ice cream this week
I was ready to give up on him (again) at the half. I hope this is a turning point for him and for the rest of the team.
I think his use of the challenge was just about perfect. He waited until we ran some time off the clock, then threw the flag. Perfect.
I need to see that this wasn't just an accident before I'm ready to get back on the Gus bus. But today was like a miraculous dream.
I missed most of the second half at work but im in my happy place right now!!!

That was a really smart move. Finally got a good challenge

It gave me hope. Lets not underestimate this. I haven't seen many coaches do that. It gives me hope that he is getting savvy like Belicheck and maybe after a rough start, He can grow into an elite coach just like Bortles has grown into an elite QB.
He's still the worst coach in football.
Good game on his behalf no?
1) Team fought through adversity
2) Second half adjustments
3) Good defensive play calls shutting down the colts offense
4) Excellent challenge technique
Was it a fluke or is there more to come?
Extra sprinkles this week.

This is what I'm curious about. Today was an anomaly from a coaching standpoint. I sure hope it continues. I want to like Gus as a coach but the results thus far have to speak for themselves. Great win today!

I can't make much of a dissenting case given his body of work but Gus did good today. Let's just have hope that he's starting to get it and we'll see more of this team moving forward.
There is a long road to redemption in my opinion but this game showed me he can do it. Now lets string some together. They don't have to be pretty but keep us in there Gus!
uh, no. It takes more than one 'blow out' game to be redeemed from his kind of record.
I hope that sundae tastes like lollipops, gumdrops and rainbows, because he's earned it today. This was easily his best coaching job to date. I still don't think he's the guy to lead this team to the promised land, but he's probably already secured his job for next year, for better or worse. It's things like the play to line Bortles up and buy time that show that the man is actually capable of doing this, but might be a slow learner.
The decision to leave Bortles in around the goal line when it was 44-16 concerns me, though. Running Bortles around end then sending him over the top is a great way to get your franchise QB killed, especially given that the Colts HAD to be pissed about having the score run up on them. That was a decision made on emotion, and you can't do that as a coach. 44-16 with a broken Bortles would feel very different.
I hope he builds on this game. I think he needs to be critical and show them you can't rest on good preparation. He said they had their best late season practice, well time to get tougher with expectations. I hope he figures it out.
The fact that Branch, Alualu, Cyp were making some plays makes me think it's a bit of a fluke...but they responded well after halftime regardless of if it was a fluke or not. They actually attempted to apply pressure which is always a good thing.
I want to like Gus and I hope he can turn this team around, but the coaching staff has been horrible for a big part of the season. He needs to prove they can play like this consistently...
They need to find a way to not start sloppy/slow and come out clicking on all cylinders.
