Quote:Lots of flexibility with this signing. I like it.
Gives us size/physicality, experience.
On first down alone, he can set the edge at LDE as well as Odrick/Alualu while providing far better pass rush.
He is way better than both of those guys combined
Quote:Some people dont realize how good Campbell is
Yea. He was PFF's second highest graded DL last year.
Quote:Far superior to Miller/Marks/Jones?
Miller and Jones are true NT guys.
I don't think you'll see Campbell at NT on base downs.
I'd guess Campbell will play strong side end ( like Odrick/ Alualu) on base downs and he'd be a rotational/occasional DT on nickel/passing downs (with Fowler playing the strong end in those situations.)
Anyone that thinks this isn't a big upgrade on our line haven't watched Campbell play.

Quote:So check this out
DE Fowler (the knee should be 100 percent)
DE Yannick (should be able to get 10)
DT Jackson
DT Campbell
Our Dline is looking pretty sweet right now. Campbell is very disruptive.
We got Church on the backend with Ramsey. Smith will always do his thing and Jack will see the field. Feeling pretty good about this defense.
Still have the draft..
Maybe that line up on passing downs.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's ngakoue that comes in for Nickle/passing downs. As good as he was rushing the passer last year, he was also very bad against the run. Fowler is a more well rounded player at this point.

fowler's knee was 100% last year, let's be real.
he had something like 15 months of rehab before the season STARTED, that is way more than enough to be 100%. We don't need to give him more excuses.
I feel like this is setting us up to get Fournette or Cook with the first pick.

Possibly fournette. Cook won't sniff a top 5 selection.

Agree

Yeah for real, Cook is not a top 5 player.
Maybe they pick Adams to replace Gipson.

Ngakoue would be on the weak side end (as per usual) in nickel/passing downs.
I'm talking about Campbell playing the strong side end in base and Fowler playing that spot in nickel.
(Fowler and Ngakoue would both be out there in nickel)
Tom gonna get his big runner in Fournette. Even Panthers fans know it.
Quote:In 95 Coughlin and the Jagstook RB James Stewart 19th overall. 6'1 224
<p style="font-size:12px;background-color:rgb(247,247,247);color:rgb(39,42,52);font-family:arial;">In 98 they followed up with Fred Taylor 8th over all. 6'1 234
<p style="font-size:12px;background-color:rgb(247,247,247);color:rgb(39,42,52);font-family:arial;">in 05 the first RB he took was Brandon Jacobs in the 4th round. 6'4 256 pounds.
<p style="font-size:12px;background-color:rgb(247,247,247);color:rgb(39,42,52);font-family:arial;">Granted they still had Tiki Barber who was 5'10 and still getting over 1K yards yearly for the Giants.
<p style="font-size:12px;background-color:rgb(247,247,247);color:rgb(39,42,52);font-family:arial;">Fournette would be the ultimate Coughlin pick since they already have a QB.
Question. He's 30 years old. Any history of major injuries? Why did the Cardinals let him go?
