He'll be fine for a game.

I'd almost rather give Bernard PIerce the main carries with DRob as a change-of-pace.

You know, early in the offseason they talked about split back sets being in the playbook, but we've never seen any.

I liked what I saw from Denard last season. He's not a power back though... he's only good in a zone blocking scheme.

The line sucKS though. Maybe Barry Sanders could run behind this line... but not many others could.
Quote:It's to my understanding that Yeldon, Grant, and the other dude are hurt. Doesn't that leave only Slowby and D Rob? I might be wrong, I haven't kept up too much with our RBs this year besides Yeldon.

That being said, it seems like Denard just always has an issue with ball security. Seems like he always has baby oil all over his hands. However, his speed is great, and his vision is half decent.

Would you be nervous to see D Rob start at RB?

D-Rob is currently avg 3.3 per carry but he is usually around a 4 average when given many of reps, but he has a tendancy to fumble the ball he drops easy catches (probably the worst catching RB on the team despite two OCs trying to have him run routes), and he doesnt always pick up the guy (blocking) like he should.

He will struggle against a very good defense (Titans) this Thursday should he get the start, but honestly Slowby isnt much better.  Sure Slowby doesnt fumble nearly as much, and has better hands & blocks better but he is slower & not as productive (or a threat of breaking a big run) as D-rob is... if both are healthy Im sure both will get a lot of reps as they try to figure out who is better as well...

plus neither could probably go an entire game without swapping out...

Peirce shouldve been cut really... in my opinion due to his off the field problems and lack of performance on the field.. not worth keeping the guy.

this
I enjoyed him last season but the little we have seen this year has been pretty bad but he could also just be out of it since he has had hardly any playing time as is.

So glad no one voted the Gerhart option.. not that I expected anyone to haha

Pierce hasn't seen enough reps to say he's not productive, and his off-the-field issues occurred before the Jaguars ever signed him. Considering we signed him knowing full well about them, we can't exactly use that against him. He hasn't been in any trouble since. Quite frankly, if we're running up the middle I'd trust him over DRob, and at this point Gerhart might remain inactive.

That said, there's still a question as to his health. He suffered some kind of Achilles or calf injury in the workouts before the Ravens game.

No no no, Not at all. He's jus turrrrble
DRob is a homerun hitter. Nothing more.
If he busts a long run, they won't catch him.

Definitely not this. What's with the Arob hate? He was our starting RB like year and wasn't that bad. We have had worse.

Hate?
I honestly forgot DRob was on the team until Sunday. He has no business being a starting RB on this team, or on any team for that matter. Cut your losses.

I'd rather have DRob than Gerfart. We gave Gerfart four opportoonies at the goal line and we haven't given DRob four carries in the 2016 season. Gus doesn't know what he's doing
Robinson is not an every down back. He flashed a little last year, but when he finally got on the field after the injury this season, he was hardly impressive. Muffed pass and a fumble leave much to be desired. His role will always be as a change of pace. I don't think there's a lot of trust in his ability to protect the ball this year. If Yeldon can't go, Pierce should get the bulk of the carries.

Since Pierce has been moved to IR, I guess that means DRob gets the call. Lets hope he can hang onto the ball.
He has scared me this year. he hasn't gotten a lot of game reps, and he's still a young player at that particular position. He hasn't looked good.

Wow, so much hate for Drob. I disagree. For a one game fill in, we should be alright.

Not necessarily, although he'd be the logical choice.  With Gerhart being a healthy scratch recently, it doesn't sound like there's a ton of confidence among the coaches that he's going to amount to anything.  He'd be the only other viable option at this point.  Hopefully Yeldon can go on Thursday.  My guess is that he won't, and that at the end of the game, it's going to be the passing attack carrying the offense, and Blake will wind up being our leading rusher.
