Quote:Wow, so much hate for Drob. I disagree. For a one game fill in, we should be alright.
Hyperbole much?
Nobody is showing any "hate" for him. They're simply stating fact. You're more than welcome to bury your head in the sand and ignore facts. It's what you do best.
Quote:Since Pierce has been moved to IR, I guess that means DRob gets the call. Lets hope he can hang onto the ball.
When did Pierce go in IR?
Quote:If he busts a long run, they won't catch him.
If he fumbles, they won't need to.

And what are the facts? He hardly played this year. So he dropped one pass last week, dont really remember any mishaps besides that.

You act like he fumbles so much. He only fumbled twice last year as the starting Running Back.
MANY people thought he did just fine as our #1 and was turning a corner....
which is why some people wanted us to wait on drafting a RB and certainly didn't see us selecting one in the 2nd.
I think Drob will be fine if asked to step in as starter... he's done it before.
That being said.... TJ seems to think he's gonna play.

When you muff a pass with as much green as he had in front of him this past week, that's an issue. You're welcome to ignore that, but the only remarkable thing he's done so far is drop a pass that would have been a big play. Not good. Is it a sign? Not sure, and fortunately, it's not going to matter if Yeldon can play. Then DRob can continue to be the role player he is.
Is Robinson fast? Yes.
Is he a good athlete? Yes.
Am I nervous every time he has the ball in his hands when he takes a hit? Yes
Does he have good hands as a receiver? No
Even as a situational back he makes me nervous when he has the ball in his hands.
Whom ever get's the start is going to be a huge factor in the outcome of the game. Weather looks like it'll be bad, likely will impact the passing game and come down to who can run the ball better.
DRob has 5 career fumbles as a runner and 0 as a receiver.
I believe the question is in reference as a one game thing.
Despite any negatives someone may want to pin on the guy, he proved last year he can be a serviceable starter.
Star power? no not really.
Starter "bell cow" nope.
If TJ can't go am I OK with Drob starting? Yeah. I'm good with it.
I'm 1000x more confident in DRob than I am with Slowby.

This.
Quote:I'd almost rather give Bernard PIerce the main carries with DRob as a change-of-pace.
You sure he wouldn't tackle himself or something?

You know, early in the offseason they talked about split back sets being in the playbook, but we've never seen any.
Hmm... DUI guy?
Nahhh

FBT is too savage lol
The thing is FBT gets a lot of hate but he's usually right and he actually discusses football, couldn't agree more with him on this

Tiki Barber was considered to have a 'fumbling problem'. His career fumbling percentage per carry was 1.4%
His worst two years were 2.1% and 2.3%. Heck, he only had 6 fumbles in 278 carries in his 'bad year'.
Robinson has 5 fumbles in only 170 carries, which extrapolates to 2.9%.
Perspective.
Is he the best option if Yeldon can't go? Probably. Does he make me nervous? Absolutely.
He hasnt had enough touches.. Hes rusty sitting on the sidelines.. Feed DRob the ball enough times im sure he breaks some big plays.

Well, if we're talking perspective....
3 fumbles were his rookie year
the one with the hand injury, iirc.
and on 20 carries, that WAS bad...
his second year 2 fumbles on 135. 1.4%
as for drops....
his first year he wasn't targeted as a receiver
in year 2, 24/31 surely he didn't drop 8 and well over a 75% comp
in year 3 5/8 62% with ONE glaring drop (apparently)
Not getting the worrying or nervousness.
But to each their own..
Not sure how anyone can be confident in Denard. He hasn't shown anything this year.
