Whats better for the team?

More confirmation of Bradley not being the coach we need + A top 5 draft pick?

or

A home playoff game in which we shock the world by dethroning the colts?

Obvious to me. How about everyone else?

Is this a trick?

If we win enough to win the division.... that would make Bradley not only not as bad as many think, but prophetic.

Built to win the AFCS he said... if he succeeds in that can we say he is not the coach we need?

Also.... this points to the agenda of certain posters. Not wanting Bradley to succeed because you've already given up on him.

I just don't get it.
Would be awesome to get some wins in.

Well, the common sense side of me would say... since you admitted in your first statement that Bradley is not the coach we need, just by clearly stating the obvious in your second statement that it'd be more important to dethrone the Colts thus leaving us in a position where we're in the last 8 picks or so in the draft while not having the coach we need and thus missing out on a possible clear upgrade... are you telling me you'd rather beat the Colts in the playoffs and that's it than get Hargreaves in the top 5? LOLOL Ok, I'm for real done... LOL

Yeah see we can agree on this I'm sure, this post makes absolutely no sense lol... it's like he's saying Bradley's not the coach we need but we should still beat the Colts in the playoffs and that's it.
Oh the flailing....

it's comical.

defense has taken ten steps back?

last year 26th total d

this year so far 12th

last year 7th worst in points allowed

this year 2nd worst

6th in sacks at the end of last season

17th this season

the defense has improved in some areas (yards allowed) and fallen off a bit in others (sacks)

still just not very good overall.

the offense I do know has taken steps forward. That all started with drafting Bortles, AR15, etc.

I think they continue to get better THIS season. And likely we're looking at a team that could win despite a bad defense by seasons end.

That is how a lot of teams make it to the playoffs. Score more than the other guys....

Point stands... real fans wanna win, no matter who the opponent, no matter the reasoning why this guy is or isn't playing.

Real fans want playoffs not top picks.

How dare you want the Jags to suck so you can fulfill your Gus hating agendas and mock draft your lil heart out with your favorite possible top 5 picks.

I know it's hard for some people to walk and chew gum, so to speak...

But I, for one, can hope we make the play-offs and still think Bradley is a bum.

There are times when a team can over-come terrible coaching.  If we make the play-offs, it would not change my mind in terms of how bad Bradley is as a Head Coach.  Alot of things have to break our way to get this team in the play-offs.  I'm rooting for all those breaks to come our way.

yes.

what if we make the playoffs and the team actually looks better.

Like.... ya know a rookie coach finally coming into his own with his young team...

it'd be nice...
Quote:yes.

LOL, you're blowing his mind!

I think AnyGivenSunday has seen so many losses for so long he's forgotten what is important and what isn't.  Getting to the playoffs is all that matters.  What happens in May should never have priority over that.

This just made me lol... cause Gus clearly ain't the coach, if it weren't for the offensive talent we have right now, the defense would look infinitely worse.

It's awesome how optimistic you are tho...

I'll gladly take Hargreaves though.

Naw, you're right.  If Bradley get's this D to actually be competitive, I probably would have e alot of crow to eat.  And I'd be happy to do so.  I was hoping against hope that Bradley would turn things around, but after the clots, bucs, and tinhons I lost that hopeful positivity.

But that's not so say it won't happen.  It could happen.  Heck, why not?  If Bradley really comes out and get's aggressive on D and starts House instead of Gratz, and stops wasting timeouts, and get's this team to stop making bonehead mistakes that unprepared teams make, we win this division.

And there still is a slight chance of that happening.  I'm rooting for that.

No, when the team looks like they do right now, and the season is half over with our first round pick on the shelf an hour into the practice season, no yeah I'll gladly do what plenty of other sports and teams do... tank. I just think it's hilarious that you call me something other than a fan of the team because I have that thinking when plenty of others have the same thinking whether they say it or not. Again, it's called common sense. Ya know, it's what teams do and disguise it by saying hopeful things that make you suckers eat it up and beg for more? LOL

Gus may not be the next coming of Bill Belicheat...

but I think we can win with him. As long as we keep winning I see no change in sight.

But I've said before, the feel good win from before the bye will wear off quickly if we dive into the same issues as before the bye.

Under Bradley we've played better after a bye.

If we can make a run and even sniff the AFCS title this season it should shut up the Gus haters for awhile. It won't. But it should.

But hey... if we run Toby Gerhart from the 1 4 times in a row up the middle again... I might grab a pitchfork myself.

clots tanked for luck.

they are now staring at 3-5, with a half game lead on the division.

Hey I dislike Luck as much as anyone else, in fact if I could remember whatever other usernames I've had on this site, I'm sure I could find plenty of posts where I showed criticism of him but he's only played a few games... doesnt he play tonight?

Also, plenty of winners tank... that's how they become winners. LOL

it works so well in the NBA...

I'm not sure it happens in the NFL quite like the clots did it in 2011 ever.

Also.... Pats didn't tank to get Brady.

Pack didn't tank to get Rogers.

Steelers didn't tank to get Ben.

Ravens, Flacco.

Falcons and Ryan...

these teams were bad, did their homework, stayed pat for the most part, picked their guy and built their teams....

and they are all (for the most part) still competitve today...

Quote:Here we go with the whole "winnable games" thing again.

I sure hope this team has learned from the previous losses of "winnable games", but I don't know how "winnable" any game on our schedule is.  Not for this team.
'Winnable' games are at best only potentially winnable games for this team. Sure... some of our upcoming games would seem potentially more 'winnable' than others, but this team has yet to demonstrate that it can win the more 'winnable' games. More often than not, in those situations where we should have been able to win, we end up looking lame and can't get out of our own way!

Until this team can get it's own stuff all together in the same sock no team we play is more 'vulnerable'. We've already blown multiple opportunities against ailing opponents; so... until this team gets to the point that it can actually beat a good opponent, don't count on anything.
Yeah, guess it has been substantially more successful in the NBA... still though NBA clearly doesn't depend on coaching as much as NFL does. Case in point my Gators coach Billy Donovan going to the Thunder.

You sure are LOL'ing alot...

Dude, why tank when there's still a chance of winning the division?  Granted it would take a major turnaround by the head coach, but it's still possible.  Once the clots lose tonight, we're only 1 game back.

We could win this division.  It honestly could happen.
